CRETE - Greece

Elounda, picturesque fishing village and one of the most exclusive and pleasant on the island, is

located in the Mirabelo Bay, in the eastern part of Crete. Until a few years ago, it was prohibited

to dive with bottles in Crete. Now that it is no longer prohibited, you can find 24 dive sites with

very diverse characteristics in one of the most extended diving areas of all the officially

authorized one in Greece.

The crystal clear waters offer a large variety of possibilities: tiered walls, canyons, platforms ...

The diversity of the aquatic fauna includes octopus, moray eels, large groupers, lobsters, and

sometimes dolphins, stingrays and turtles. Crete also offers a multitude of places of interest with

more than 800 Byzantine chapels, one of the most impressive gorge of Europe and beautiful

archaeological treasures and antique cities.

DIVE SEASON

Crete enjoys a pleasant Mediterranean climate, warm and dry between the months of May and

October. The temperature ranges between 14°C in March and up to 28°C in September /

October. The dive center is closed on Saturdays for the staff to rest. The dives usually take

place from 9h30 to 14h00. All dives are guided and include beads, bottle and ship. There are a

total of 24 diving points in a radius of 15 minutes of navigation.

DIVING LEVEL

The level of diving is affordable to all degree programs. The dives are conducted in groups

which do not exceed 6 people in a depth that ranges from 10 to 23 meters. The place is ideal for

snorkeling and introductory courses, as well as to travel with non diver companions.

TRAVEL PROGRAM

Day 1: Heraklion - ELOUNDA Transfer from the airport of Heraklion to Elounda and

accommodation at the hotel of your choice.

Days 2 to 7: DIVING IN ELOUNDA - Stay at the hotel of your choice. Pack of 5 days diving with

2 dives a day.

Day 8: Elounda - Heraklion - Transfer from Elounda to Heraklion Airport.

It is located on the outskirts of Elounda and about 3 minutes by car from the dive center.

Standard Rooms with two beds, air conditioning, safety deposit box, TV, fully equipped

bathroom and terraces with views over the sea or the mountain.

Bungalows: very spacious and beautifully decorated. Two restaurants, bars, two large

swimming pools, children's swimming pool, spacious sundecks, tennis, volleyball, fitness center,

internet, TV lounge and games area for children. Entertainment in the evenings.

The hotel Elounda Ilion is situated on a hill with a panoramic view of the Bay of Elounda, 2 km

from the town and 1 minute by car from the dive center. There is restaurant, bar, swimming pool

for adults and children, playground, mini golf, and parking. The rooms have complete bathroom

and balcony, individually controlled air-conditioning, hair dryer and telephone.
