Conventions of real media texts

I MAC’S software such as Photoshop, Final Cut and live type. This allowed creativity and manipulation of text and images through AS and A2.

AS – L.A Confidential – used the film noir generic conventions but was able to have sub genres within. (Good cop/Bad cop)

A2 – Queens of the Stone Age – no one knows gave us influence for the humour within it, but allowed us to be a lot more creative as we had the humour convention but we could enhance and change it in anyway we wanted.TDCC – I can talk, allowed us to adapt the thought beat technique to our video as it uses it throughout.Killers – Use of reoccurring photos across digi pak and advert to show comparisons.

AS – Set brief allowed us to be creative as it only stated to have a 2- minute opening film sequence so we had freedom of mise-en-scene, editing and camera etc. but still had to stick to original conventions of the style of film we have chosen e.g. Film Noir or horror, use of real media texts such as L.A Confidential was key also.

A2 – We had a lot more freedom than AS so it allowed us to be a lot more creative within the media promo package as we could choose what genre and also how everything was edited and appeared. We still had to keep within the music genre conventions but in A2 it’s was a lot less restricted.

Music Video/ Advert/ Digi pak analysis – allowed freedom within genre9 – Frame Analysis & audience research.
