A business (enterprise or firm) is an organization involved in the trade of goods, services, or both to
consumers.
Business plan and Business model determine the outcome of an active business operation.
Business can be only determined by models!
a model is a metaphor...
it is an artifact.
a. representation: a model is always an image of something
b. simplification: a model reduces the number of parts to the original by only
capturing relevant parts
c. pragmatism: any model is created for a special purpose, and this purpose is
specified for certain users within a certain period of time.

There are three different types of artifacts:
products, organizations,
and information.
A business is an organization we have
created (designed) and itis described in an
informational model!
What is design?Three artifacts, therefore we would need to say
that design is a purposeful creation of

and information
Definition of design according to Herbert Simon:
“Everyone designs who devises courses of action aimed at changing existing situations into
preferred ones.”
... but Design has changed!
