Dr. Sage Hiibel, Assistant Professor in UNR’s Chemical and Materials Engineering Department, will discuss the use of membrane technologies as low-energy options for clean water generation. Dr.Hiibel will explore how direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) is a thermally-driven process that utilizes a phase change at a membrane surface to separate contaminants from clean water.
