• Thus: we do not directly fund operas, musical groups, restauration of churches or media productions.
• We can however help the sector in a variety of other ways.

Training action also open for participants from countries which are not participating in the MEDIA sub-programme, provided that:
• General rule: nationals from countries not participating in the MEDIA sub- programme cannot represent more than 20% of participants.
• For specific "International Actions" aiming at building expertise, knowledge and capacities for European professionals to peer, network and collaborate with Non-European professionals to enable access to international professional networks, the proportion of nationals from countries not participating in the MEDIA sub- programme should represent between 35% and 50% of participants.

Support for major professional’s markets, and pan European professional databases
Business to Business events and online tools providing platforms for professionals .
Events facilitating the financing, co-production and the sales of European works across all genres.
Annual support for 50-60 Market Access actions.Budget 2014: €8.17 M.

Audience Development – Key elementsSubjects:Stimulating the appetite of the European audience (especially young people and children) for European films by:
Audience Development Events - Multi-territory marketing or promotional events showing non-national European films on various distribution platforms.
Film Literacy Projects - Cooperation projects between Film Literacy initiatives across Europe in order to increase their European dimension and foster best practices.
The goal is to fund 10 projects of each type per annum, Budget 2014: € 1.9 M

Subjects:Support for European Film Festivals focused on the audience that:
Are committed to promoting European film, especially from countries with less established filmmaking industries.
Contribute to promoting diversity by screening a substantial number of productions from at least 15 participating European countries.
Include film literacy activities. Have a clear audience development strategy before, during and after the
festival.
Annual support for +/- 80 Festivals, budget 2014: €3.25 M.

The European Commission does encourage cultural operators from programme countries to already seek partnerships with Ukrainian partners under the currently open call:

How to get funding (1)?
Culture:• Call for proposals each year for cooperation projects and literary
translations.
• Culture: all fields of the Programme are eligible for funding: e.g. architecture, libraries, museums, heritage, design, festivals, music, literature, performing arts, publishing, visual arts.
• Always about co-operation (except lit. translation), always transnational.
• Always minimum number of partners from different countries (3 or 6 minimum).

How to get funding (2)?• Max. funding per project: CAT 1: EUR 200.000 - CAT 2: EUR
2.000.000,-.
• Project duration: up to 48 months
• Always co-financing: 40-50% 'own resources' needed
• Subsequent applications possible in same category. Parallel applications possible in different categories (for different topics!)
• Creative Europe Desk in country needed.
