INTRO — HELLO THERE

Life does not simply happen to us. Every idea we encounter, every thought we have, and every choice we make shapes our experience of the world around us. But what makes life more than a series of experiences? How do we come to see the bigger picture?

Creativity is the bridge between perception and action. When we create, we don’t just live life; we engage with it. We solve problems and explore possibilities. We uncover new expressions of timeless emotions. We communicate in a universal language. We strengthen the foundation from which future generations will reach higher and see farther than we ever could.

Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University’s (KCAD’s) Continuing Studies program exists to help people of all ages unlock their creative potential. We offer a diverse array of courses designed to build new skills, strengthen existing ones, and empower individuals to lead more successful and stimulating lives, both personally and professionally. What’s more, new courses are being developed all the time.

This winter/spring, experience the city of Grand Rapids through the lens of a camera in the new Street Photography (p. 11) course. Looking to build a web presence? Learn how to make a stunning and affordable custom website in the new Website Design (p. 13) course. Or, learn to

capture memorable experiences on paper in the new Quick Trip Sketching Workshop (p. 19) course.

Whatever you want out of life, your creativity can help make it happen. Embrace it, and embolden yourself by signing up for a course today.
