Creative Brief for magazine Project manager: Anthony Williams Artist name: MC Real Album Title: Real Hip-Hop Dept: Television Deadlines: Magazine: 21/11/11 Album: 01/12/11 By releasing the magazine advert ten days before the album release it allows the target audience to see the new album and its contents such as artists, songs and where to buy it from by reading magazines such as ‘The Vibe’ and ‘EBONY’ which are its genres most suited magazines. Sales Target: £30,000 Magazine Target Audience: Males 80% - CDE audiences Females 20% - DE audiences Magazine Concept: My artist needs a magazine advert with artwork that represents the hip-hop subculture and music. I believe that using a background that represents hip-hop is necessary in this magazine advert due to the title ‘Real Hip-Hop’ thus I believe a source of where hip-hop comes from should be the background for example ‘the streets’ urban areas such as estates. Though an area of streets does not appeal to all masses I believe the background should be edited on Photoshop purposely change brightness to make the advert stand out and look youthful. This magazine advert was created so that my artist could gain media attention from other audiences in music. The artwork needs to appeal to everyone by the use of colour and location. The colours I intend to use is lower colours such as black, white and grey thus making the location look dull and grey this notifying the audience where he comes from; though lighting the grey colours it makes the audience brightened. The magazine advert was also intended to inspire the youth of today in a positive showing that anyone from poor locations can aspire to fame. The magazine advert must contain a photo of the artist and the album cover to show that the two are linked, logo and information are also important in the magazine to show masses what the album title is called, artist name, guest features, and companies where to buy and download the album from.

Magazine Concept:

My artist needs a magazine advert with artwork that represents the hip-hop subculture and music.
