belangrijke oorzaak ligt in de normalisering van de economische groei in China tot zo'n 8%. Aangezien dit land goed is voor 45% van de wereldconsumptie van bijvoorbeeld aluminium en staal heeft dit direct effect op de wereldmarkt.…Ed Morse van Citygroup verwacht dat de prijs per grondstof gaat bewegen op basis van zijn eigen vraag en aanbod. Relevant in dit perspectief is de Chinese overcapaciteit in staal, cement, aluminium en glas en die volgens experts zeker zal duren tot 2016. Andere continenten, zoals Zuid-Amerika, die zeer afhankelijk zijn van de export van grondstoffen (70%) zullen dit in negatieve zin merken. Enige schaarste kan wellicht nog verwacht worden bij koper en zink.
