Three ways to buy …
At we give you three ways to buy…
1. Simply pay with cash or a credit or debit card in the gallery and walkaway with your purchase. (You can also make a BACS payment or senda cheque if you have seen something you like and then phone or email
us later. We can always sort out delivery too)
2. Leave a deposit and then make an additional one, two or even threepayments to total the full amount. We’ll keep the work until you can
fully afford it - but you will know it cannot be sold to anyone else.
3. Save a regular amount with us and build a fund for buying when yousee something you like. Your money is kept in a separate account so itis always safe and, while we can’t pay interest, we will give a discountof 5% on purchases made with your fund..which is better than most
other accounts can pay at present.
Please call at the gallery if you would like further details

Some things can be made much easier if galleries work with you. Tomake it as simple as possible we provide additional services.
Home visits - placing the right piece in the right place is very importantand it is often hard to tell in a gallery if something will look good in situ.
We can arrange to bring pieces to your home for you to see them inplace before you buy. There is a charge for this service deductable from
any subsequent purchase.
Corporate gifts - Buying a gift that is unique for a special client or a per-son leaving your company can be difficult if not impossible. But a unique
present shows thoughtfulness and conveys the importance of thechoice. Tell us something about the person and your budget and we’ll
give you three options to consider.
Art finding - Looking for something but can’t see it? Give us a brief andwe’’ll try and find something suitable at no charge, with no obligation
High quality printing for artists and photographers - working alongsideBeverley based Visual Evidence we can provide high quality, archival
prints at a price most internet companies can’t match. Just ask…
Advice on buyingArt is best bought to enjoy, to enhanceyour surrounds and your life. Anyone whotells you art is investable is only partlyright. French critics in the 1890’s had neverheard of van Gogh.
If you want to buy as part of an investmentportfolio then you will be taking a chance. It is highly unlikely that the value of any artyou buy will increase vastly during your life-time, although some artists havereputations which mean their work is likelyto maintain it’s value.
Apart from paintings prints can be a lesscostly investment if you buy wisely. A well-produced, signed and numbered, limitededition print of archival quality may holdvalue well and be more re-saleable than apainting, albeit not of as high a value. Butget expert advice before buying. High printruns and poor quality printing methodsproduce nothing more than copies, notvalued work.
Ask us for more information which we willgladly share.

Be well informed
To help our customers gain a good understanding of all aspects of artwe regularly run talks, lectures, demonstrations and classes. From
discussions on the value of art through to lectures about art historyand notable changes in how art is perceived and adapted we invite
artists and art historians to present their ideas, explain their work andplace context around what the gallery tries to achieve.

Partnership is important! It isn’t only our customers who are important but our artists too. We workclosely with them to provide up-to-date work at prices which try to ensure
we all survive. Our prices include no VAT as we do not trade above thethreshold.
We also work with other galleries and you can see how this works by lookingat www.eastcoastgalleries.com which shows a selection from this area. Orworking with sixteen Bulgarian printmakers to import work not otherwise
available in Britain
Local artists are an important source of work and so co-ordinating with EastRiding Artists (ERA) and the local council is also important to us.
We are also keen to work with local businesses when this seems possible soif you have a proposition to put to us (art on your walls for a commission;leaving parties at the gallery; a pop-up in an empty space) then talk to us.
