EwB WHAT IS IT?

Enterprise without Borders (EwB) is designed to give students in Company Programme running mini-companies the opportunity to create cross-border international partnerships as part of their JA-YE experience. Through a website, teachers and schools can register for participation and students can upload their company profiles and enter an entrepreneurial ‘dating game’.

EwB Objectives

Project objectives:• Promote the spirit of enterprise among educators and

students• Raise awareness of entrepreneurship education in the wider

community• Introduce students to trade across borders, setting up and

managing an enterprise, working with business cultures• Promote attitudes for personal success, lifelong learning and

employability• Foster sensitivity to other cultures, as well as cross-cultural

understanding

EwB Outcome

Expected outcome year 1 (school year 2008-2009):• 2 trainers-of-trainers per country • 12 schools will be involved in the project per country → 12

teachers per country• Each teacher will teach 1 class of approximately 20 students,

so the project will impact around 240 students per country per year

• Each class will generate around 3 mini-companies of up to 7 students/mini-company/country = 36 mini-companies per country

• Each mini-company will find a partner for the joint-venture (ideally)

EwB Outputs/report

1. Programme materials for teachers and students in 11 languages (CP and EWB guides in local language)

2. On-going teacher training and support system (local training of trainers, teachers and volunteers)

3. Records of all the teachers, volunteers and students who participate in EWB and report on them

4. A web interface for dissemination and mini-company registration, catalogue of products/services students are trading & forum for exchange between participating teachers and students (report on local utilisation if any)
