Of those surveyed:

83% of women think

gender discrimination exists at work

66%of men think

Is there a difference between men and

women’s pay?

30% of men believe there is no differencebetween men and women’s

pay.

This compares to 11% of women believing the

same.

Women earn 19% less

than men on average

Women are negatively affected by the pay gap in 90% of sectors

££The 3 sectors with the biggest pay gaps are:

1. Financial and insurance activities2. Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply 3. Professional, scientific and technical activities

Women earn 40% less than men in the financial sector

11% of women said their gender has

negatively impacted on their decision to start a

family, compared to 3% of men.

What impact is this having?

23% of women felt gender had

negatively impacted on their career

progression, compared to 12% of men.

An ambitious woman is almost twice as likely

to be called ‘pushy’ in comparison to an

ambitious man.

What is the impact on behaviours?

Determined or Forceful?

The employee poll also included questions

relating to the language used in the workplace to describe

both men and women.
