Using PowerPoint

PowerPoint allows you to create slides for:

• overhead transparencies

• electronic presentations

• handouts

• home web pages

Creating a PowerPoint Presentation is easy!

1. Chose the design template

2. Chose the slide layout

3. Enter the text and images

4. Insert a new slide and repeat steps 2 and 3

5. View show when finished

Editing a PowerPoint Presentation

Slides

• Change the presentation design

• Change the color scheme

• Change the slide layout

• Change slide order

• Delete a slide

• Add a slide

Slide Content

• Cut, Copy, Paste...

• Formatting toolbar (font style, size, ...)

• Format Painter

Slide Viewsunder the view menu

Normal View shows current slide, presentation outline and notes

Sorter View shows all slides

Slide Show View runs the presentation – can also run presentation using the Slide Show button on the toolbar, “view show” under slide show menu and function key F5

Notes Page – lets you see your notes more easily

Master – allows you to edit formatting on all slides at one time

Navigating the presentation

Use the scroll bar on right

Use the outline on left (allows you to rearrange slide order)

Use slide Sorter View (allows you to rearrange slide order)
