Creating a Movie in Corel Video Studio

1. Open a new Corel Video Project 2. Add an Intro Effect with a Caption like Joe and Jim Fishing (Make it 5 Seconds long by Double

Clicking the Effect and setting the time to 5 seconds (add 1 second transitions {AB Button}).a. Add a Caption on the Intro Slideb. Click on the Select Text Type from the Edit Tabc. Choose a Text Type and Drag and Drop to the Text Trackd. Set the Text length to match the Intro Effect length (4 seconds don’t go into transition)

3. Adding Pictures and Video--Click on the Edit Tab at the Top of the Windowa. Click to Browse Button

4. Drag and Drop Crazy Talk MP4 Video behind the Intro Effect. It is in your 25…/7th/Computer/Activity.

5. Go to your Activity folder (Drag and drop the pictures in the correct order for your movie)a. Double Click each Picture b. Set Picture length to 5 seconds (or longer if caption takes longer to read)

6. Adding Captions to each picturea. Click on the Select Text Type from the Edit Tabb. Choose a Text Type and Drag and Drop to the Text Track under the picturec. Set the Text length to match the Intro Effect length (5 seconds)d. Repeat for all picture (Slides 2-6) and Credits Slide

7. Remember you must go ABOVE AND BEYOND!a. Use the Transition Button (AB Button) to add transitions between picture (1 second)b. Use the Pan and Zoom Feature (FX Button) on your pictures by Dragging and Dropping a

Pan and Zoom Feature on top of each picture.c. You can change the slide duration by going to (Text Tools/Format Tab/Adjust Group)

8. Adding a Credit to the end by using one of the Intro Effects with a Text Caption in the Text Tracka. Make the Credit Slide 5 seconds longb. Make the Caption length 5 seconds as well

9. Add Voice Overa. Click the Record/Caption Optionb. Make sure the Playhead is starting at the beginning of the moviec. Click Voice Overd. Turn input volume all the way up. Record your Captions (Each Partner Must Record).e. Record your narration for the video-Click Start to Record and Spacebar to stop.f. Double Click on Narration (Turn Volume up and level all volumes)g. Level the volumes across the project for Intro Video and each narration (500 is max.)

10. Add Green Screen Picturea. Drop green screen picture into track two directly below the image you want to add your pic

into.b. Double click the Image and Click on the Mask & Chroma Keyc. Click white color and change to greend. Click Apply Overlay Optionse. Resize Image and more to desired location on the background picturef. Put on caption in T (text) Track

11. Save the Corel Movie project file in your Activity folder!a. Name it your First Names (Ex. Todd Jim Sally Fishing)

12. THIS IS NOT A MOVIE FILE YET, BUT JUST A PROJECT FILE. THIS IS THE ONLY FILE THAT YOU CAN USE TO EDIT YOUR MOVIE BEFORE SAVING! IT IS A COREL VIDEO PROJECT FILE! IF YOU SEE ERRORS IN THE MOVIE YOU MUST FIX THEM BY OPENING THE COREL VIDEO PROJECT FILE, FIXING THE ERRORS, AND RESAVING THE PROJECT FILE IN YOUR ACTIVITY FOLDER.

13. Rendering the Corel Project file to a videoa. Go to the Share Tabb. Select MPEG-4c. Change file name to your First Names (Ex. Todd Jim Sally Fishing)d. Change Data Path to save the rendered video in your Activity Folder (P: 25…/7th/Computer)e. Click Start Button

Attach the finished MP4 movie to the Google Assignment (paper clip, from computer, add from P: drive)This will be on the last workday of this project.

Extra Assignment to be done only if time permits.

1. Adding music to the movie (If time on the 4th day.)a. Drag and Drop an MP3 file to the Music Track b. The MP3 file should be saved in your Activity Folder (After you download from the Free to Use

and Share Link on my Website. It needs to be copied from the downloads folder and pasted into you Activity Folder and then put into the music track at the bottom of Corel.

c. Set the Music Track length to the length of your project movied. Listen to the Corel Movie Project file and adjust the music volume. Maybe as low as 5-10. You

will have to listen, so you just have low background music and loud enough narration.

2. Save the Corel Movie project file in your Activity Folder!a. Name it your First Names (Ex. Todd Jim Sally Fishing)
