2497 | 09/16 CALL FOR ABSTRACTS We cordially invite you to submit abstracts that explore how healthcare environments contribute to improved healing. This symposium provides an excellent opportunity to showcase your research, evidence-based practice project or quality improvement project that focuses on transforming the healthcare environment to optimize the patient care experience and improve health outcomes. Examples of work may include noise reduction, workflow redesign, clear way finding, collaborative meeting areas, soft lighting, stress reducing spaces, navigation systems, and the growth of transitional environments such as the home and community. As organizations strive to improve the patient care experience and health outcomes while reducing costs, an understanding of how hospital and home environments contribute to overall health, has never been more timely. Key Dates Abstract Submission Deadline November 7, 2016 Notification to Presenters December 14, 2016 Symposium June 2, 2017 Abstract Submission Process Abstracts must be submitted no later than 5pm on November 7, 2016. References are not required but may be included. A maximum of 500 words excluding title will be accepted. Include one learning objective for your presentation. Include a copy of your updated curriculum vitae. Clinical Research Report Abstract Format Title Typed in bold, upper and lower case. State clearly the nature of the study. Author Do not include author details in the abstract to allow for blind reviewing. Background Brief statement on significance and current state of the problem. Aim One sentence statement of the study’s specific objective. Methods A brief statement of the methods used for this project. Results A summary of the results obtained. Conclusion A statement of the conclusions.
