UNESCO defines a learning city as:
A city that effectively mobilises its resources in every sector to
promote inclusive learning from basic to higher education; to
revitalise learning in families and communities; to facilitate
learning for and in the workplace; to extend the use of modern
learning technologies; to enhance quality and excellence in
learning; and to foster a culture of learning throughout life.
Swansea gained the UNESCO Learning City Award in 2015

• Six days of free activities across Swansea - Monday April
1st to Saturday 6th April 2019
• Project work in schools leading up to the Festival
• Taster day to encourage participation
• Promotion of existing learning opportunities in Swansea
• Targeting 1600 participants & over 100 activities

learners to plan attendance of activities
• The most successful activities were ones promoted
fully by partners as well as the coordinators
• Provide more evening activities for participants
• Partners to enter own activities onto website
• Social media is vital to share activities
