Introducing mobile tickets and vouchers

What are mobile tickets and vouchers? Textlocal gives you the ability to create your own fully branded tickets and vouchers which can be sent out via a text message, directly or as an automatic response to an opt-in SMS. The mobile ticket/voucher will contain a unique code, bar code and/or QR code and can be safely stored on a customer’s mobile device and later, scanned for redemption using Textlocal Messenger or mobile app.

In a nutshell, how do they work? • Create and design mobile tickets and vouchers in your Textlocal

Messenger account • Include a unique code for each recipient (created by Textlocal or

uploaded by you), an optional bar code and/or QR Code • Select your recipients • Send out your text campaign along with the ticket/voucher • Redeem tickets and vouchers by entering the unique code in your

Messenger account or scanning the bar code or QR code via Textlocal mobile app

Why mobile? • No equipment or software is needed, all you need is a Messenger

account for creation and a mobile phone for redemption • Paper tickets and vouchers can be misplaced, but you can be sure that

your customers will be drawn to your business knowing that their Textlocal tickets and vouchers are stored safely on their mobile phone and readily available.

What makes them different from loyalty cards? Vouchers and tickets are for one time use only meaning your customers get instant redemption and rewards.

What is a ticket? • A Textlocal ticket can be used for purchase, travel or entry and is sent

directly to your customers’ mobile phones. The customer can easily save and validate the ticket using just their mobile phones.

What is a voucher? • A Textlocal voucher is a mobile voucher that can be created to offer

discounts and offers for your customers to redeem. These can be sent directly to your customers or as a response to their inbound SMS request.

Creating your ticket or voucher

Select ‘Ticket / Voucher’ on the ‘New Ticket’ tab. Whether you're creating a 20% off voucher or a ticket for admission to an event, follow the steps in this section of the tool. You set the rules and call-to-action at a later stage.

You can enter an expiry date for your vouchers and tickets. This helps you maintain strict terms and conditions of usage for any offers and promotions you run.

Give your voucher/ticket a name and set an expiry date if you wish.

If you have already created your own unique codes, select ‘Use this and I have my own codes’ and follow the instructions. If you do not have your own codes, click ‘use this option’ and easily create unique codes with millions of permutations in a few steps time.

Note that Option 2 is a great way to build your opt-in database by targeting specialised offers

STEP ONE - CHOOSE YOUR PROCESS Select if you want to send your ticket or voucher unique code along with a link to your existing database (option 1) or as an automatic response for one of your inbound numbers (option 2). The link enables customers to download Passbook/Passwallet version directly to their iOS or Android phones.

STEP TWO - CHOOSE YOUR CONTACTS Option 1 : Choose the contact group you want to send your ticket to, or select ‘create a new group’ and upload your contacts as normal. Selecting the contacts at this stage means that the system knows who to allocate the unique codes to as it generates them Option 2: If you are setting your ticket/voucher up as an auto-response, you will be prompted to select the inbox you want to use. .

STEP THREE: DEFINE YOUR UNIQUE TICKET AND VOUCHER CODE FORMAT You are able to do this by including: • Numbers • Letters • Code prefix • Code suffix • Code length

Messenger will give you an example of what your code looks like and how many permutations are available (it’s billions!). This unique code will appear on the text messages you send. Use the code prefix and suffix to brand the ticket/voucher the way you like.

STEP FOUR: DEFINE YOUR CUSTOM FIELDS Select what custom field you would like to save the unique codes to. If you are sending a brand new ticket or voucher make sure you choose to override any existing codes.

Customising your mobile voucher and ticket STEP FIVE: CUSTOMISE YOUR MOBILE VOUCHER AND TICKET WEB PAGE The left hand side of your screen will show a preview of what your voucher or ticket looks like. On this page you will choose: • Your redemption methods – passbook, QR code and barcode • Page content – title, text, footer, logos, merge fields and color scheme.

What is Passbook? Why include a Passbook or Pass Wallet? • Customers can save to their phone for a later date and don’t have

to search through their text messages • Professional and smart look for your business • Reduces the struggle to find Wi-Fi while out and about

STEP SIX: DESIGN/EDIT YOUR PASSBOOK TEMPLATE If you have chosen to include Passbook you will now be prompted to design a new one or duplicate an existing one. Here you can either edit and duplicate an existing passbook template or design a brand new passbook template.

The phone displayed to the left shows a preview of what your Passbook ticket/voucher will look like.

STEP SEVEN – MESSENGER ACTIONS

When redeeming any kind of ticket or voucher, Messenger will notify you straight away if the voucher is valid or has already been redeemed.

Schedule an SMS for a few hours after a scan to gather feedback using our survey tool

Whatever you choose to offer your customers when they scan, there’s a range of actions Messenger can perform: Display a message on screen with instructions of the reward Send a text, either to the card holder or to any other number you

The system is flexible to your requirements, so you can set up a number of individual tickets and vouchers as you like.

Additional set up If you’re sending your ticket or voucher out as an auto responder, next you need to set up the auto response for your inbound number. Set up: Auto text response Forwarding email Forwarding to a URL Forward to a number

If you’re sending to a group and you have no contacts in there yet, you will be prompted to add some here. You can choose to do this later.

There are a number of ways for a voucher or ticket to be redeemed. They are: • Textlocal Messenger • Mobile app • Through your Epos system

Redeeming your ticket and voucher

MESSENGER REDEMPTION In the ‘Tickets’ menu option, select ‘Redeem’ and then enter the unique ticket code.

The screen will display any messages you’ve included to be shown at this point, as well as details about the scan and the customer.

MESSENGER MOBILE APP REDEMPTION If you use the Messenger mobile app to redeem, you can either scan the QR code and/or barcode on the ticket or voucher, or enter the code manually.

If you’ve set up a display message for this scan, this will pop up on screen now. The app will also confirm that the ticket/voucher was scanned successfully.

If the ticket or voucher is invalid, an error message will occur, so you can be sure you’re only giving rewards to valid customers

Reporting In Messenger, you can see reports on your ticket and voucher scans. The codes will be grouped together showing the most recent scan first. You can also search for codes that have been scanned and specify a date range in which to search.

You can export the data for further analysis if required. This data will include the time & date of the most recent validation. You can also export non-redeemers, so you can target these people individually. For example: ‘#FirstName# you haven't claimed your free delivery yet. Click here to get your unique code.’
