JP students are confident because they know they are

supported. We offer our students the most comprehensive

supports and services of any high school in Edmonton

and that means every JP student, regardless of their

capabilities or aspirations will be supported in their

chosen path. (And if they need a little help navigating that

path, we can help with that too!)

– David Morris, Principal

Students will have more access to courses when high schools

expand their timetables in September 2020.

Many high schools are adding new time slots to the start and

end of each school day to offer more flexibility for students.

High schools typically offer programming in Blocks 1-4, but

most will now offer a Block 0 and Block 5 slot as well.

The change could make it easier for you to get into the

academic and optional courses you want. The time you

spend in class and the credits you need won’t increase.

Whether you’re working, volunteering, or participating in

sports or other activities, you’ll have more choice in how you

schedule your day.

Once you’ve registered, your school will provide details

about your timetable options.

WHAT SETS JASPER PLACE APART? HIGH SCHOOL HOURS ARE EXPANDING

It is a space where students can be mentored with their ideas and become connected to both school and community resources. Money earned by our in house coffee shop goes directly back into student initiatives that are voted for by JP students. The Global Café is a place where students work on interdisciplinary projects that better both the school and the greater Edmonton community. Global Café is a place where culture is created, intergenerational relationships are built, and students are empowered to use their voice and act to drive decisions in our education system.

ClubsWe have over 50, student driven clubs at Jasper Place. Clubs are showcased each semester during our “Clubs Day” where students are encouraged to get involved or create a club of their own!
