COMMERCIAL & CORPORATE REAL ESTATE CYBERSECURITY FORUM

8:30AM-11:30AMOver the last three to four years, cybersecurity in the commercial and corporate real estate industry has become a topic of great interest. Each year, the threat of breaches increases as the IoT becomes more integrated into our daily activities. There are four distinct areas that building professionals must consider: 1) traditional IT cyber threats; 2) protection of real estate operational and transaction data; 3) smart, connected buildings; and 4) physical security. This forum will bring together industry thought leaders to address the most impactful cyber threats, leveraging experience and knowledge to set benchmarks for cybersecurity strategy.

CIO ROUNDTABLE

1:00PM-5:30PM In place for well over a decade, the Realcomm CIO Roundtable has become a premiere annual event that attracts the best and brightest CIOs in the commercial real estate industry. The roles and responsibilities of today’s CIO have expanded into other areas such as marketing, smart facilities, enhanced occupant experience, human resources, digital transformation and more. The purpose of this Forum is to foster an environment where CIOs can learn about the latest technologies, collaborate with peers and leverage knowledge in this fast-changing world. The content is derived from an industry advisory board and results in a cutting-edge, timely and relevant program.

HIGHER EDUCATION – SMART CAMPUS SUMMIT

1:30PM-5:30PM In its second year, the Higher Education Smart Campus Summit is quickly becoming a must attend preconference event for colleges and universities. College campuses have many moving parts, and in many cases, resemble small cities. The opportunity to automate many aspects of the campus lends itself to a comprehensive strategy. Because these organizations control their assets, they are in some cases able to move more efficiently through a smart campus project. A group of industry thought leaders in this space will address topics such as wide area building networks, building operating system selection, IP enablement of traditional analog devices, developing a strategy and more.

SMART BUILDING INTEGRATOR SUMMIT (SBIS)

1:30PM-6:00PM To begin automating a building, all roads lead to a systems integrator. In most cases, the integrator is the organization that will align the solutions found in the industry with the goals and objectives of the client. The single building, single vendor solution can no longer meet the needs of the market. In a world where IT is quickly encroaching on traditional building automation, yesterday’s strategies no longer work. The SBIS will address all those issues impacting today’s smart building integrator, including defining the next generation Master Systems Integrator, the impact of the IoT, providing integrated, interoperable solutions and more.

COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE COO|CFO|CAO INNOvATION SUMMIT

1:30PM-5:30PM Today more than ever, operational executives at commercial real estate companies need to understand technology integration and its impact to how we operate and use real estate. Topics including smart buildings, IoT, cybersecurity, AI, autonomous vehicles, blockchain, robotics, drones and virtual reality as well as more traditional aspects such as ERPs, CRMs, leasing platforms and document management, are being assimilated into real estate by design. This Summit is designed as a place where peers can come to strategically discuss and debate the technology, automation and innovation that continues to impact our industry on a daily basis.

SUSTAINABILITY EXECUTIvE HIGH PERFORMANCE SMART BUILDING SYMPOSIUM

1:30PM-5:30PM For years, sustainability professionals have been responsible for many of the issues surrounding building efficiency. Energy and natural resource conservation have always been top priorities. While these remain high atop the list, other issues have come into play. Topics such as space utilization, enhanced occupant experience and wellness have been added. The goal of this Symposium is to discuss and debate those technologies, specifically smart building technologies that can positively impact the performance of the building. Chaired by industry thought leaders, this informative event will address all the issues surrounding high-performance buildings.

INTELLIGENT BUILDINGS BOOT CAMP

2:00PM-6:00PM Converting a traditional building into a smart building can be a daunting task. Transforming a portfolio or campus is an even greater challenge. While the benefits of energy and natural resource conservation, operational efficiency and an enhanced occupant experience are compelling, even the most experienced commercial, corporate and institutional real estate organizations sometimes do not know where to start. Over the last six years, this boot camp has provided professionals a step-by-step guide on where to begin. Defining what is a smart building, developing a strategy and assembling a smart building team, are just a few more of the topics to be discussed.

Program subject to change without notice.

realcomm educatIon tracKs | June 14-15 TRACK: CRE TECH 5.0 AND BEYONDCRE Tech 5.0 is the fifth phase of the CRE technology timeline. The development of these sophisticated general technologies has been in process for many years but is only recently becoming part of mainstream conversations. These technologies, coming out of Silicon Valley and other high-tech regions, include innovations such as AI/Machine Learning, Blockchain, Autonomous Vehicles, Robotics, Augmented Reality and others. This track will not only focus on the status of these transformational ideas but will also explore how these new and powerful platforms could potentially impact the way we design, build, lease, operate, transact and use commercial and corporate real estate. A must attend for those involved in strategic planning.

• AI / MACHINE LEARNING – Are There Applications for Commercial Real Estate? • Commercial Real Estate and BLOCKCHAIN – Understanding the Potential

TRACK: “DIGITIzING” THE COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE ORGANIzATIONTechnology has always been an enabler of change. It allows us to reevaluate old processes and apply new ideas to make things better, faster and cheaper. Over the years, we have evolved from mainframes to mini computers to distributed PCs and now to the cloud and mobile devices. We have ostensibly put the power of mainframe computers into everyone’s hands. The vast potential of this computing platform means that automation goes from the back office right to the customer’s mobile device, and consequently, every process and every experience must be rethought. This essential track will focus on the fact that many in our industry believe that this challenge goes beyond traditional IT thinking and responsibilities and that true digital transformation is the next evolution.

• Real Estate DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION – Incremental Change or an Entire New Approach

• Defining and Executing the “DIGITAL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE” • BUSINESS ALIGNMENT for Technology and Innovation – A Requirement for

Success • Technology and CHANGE MANAGEMENT – “A Pitch I Can Take Back to My CEO”

TRACK: THE CHANGING WORKFORCEWhen you talk to any seasoned professional regarding automation and innovation, they are quick to point out that success or failure is never based solely on the technology, but rather on the people. Our industry (as well as many others) is engaged with a variety of challenges pertaining to personnel. Up to five generations in the workplace, new work ethics and styles, fast changing technology and a skills shortage are just a few of the issues business professionals are managing in today’s

business environment. This track will assess all the issues related to the people side of the business. Without an engaged, motivated, educated and disciplined workforce, an organization will struggle with all projects including technology. This may be the most important topic for 2017.

• Integrating MILLENNIALS in the Workplace – Technology, Work Style and Communications

• Dealing with the Critical IT SKILLS SHORTAGE– Creative Ways to Build a Team• 21st Century Skills – Building a DATA SCIENCE Strategy & Team

TRACK: CRE TECH 4.0During the 2009/2010 timeframe, what we are now referring to as CRE Tech 4.0 began. It emerged from the disruption caused by the 2008 financial crisis. Once the dust settled and things began to stabilize, an extraordinary amount of investment dollars flooded the market and CRE Tech was one of the recipients. The technology platforms that were introduced in this timeframe were: Social, Mobile, Analytics, Cloud, IoT and Cyber. With these new technologies in place, the CRE industry was quick to embrace and begin the hyper automation of our industry. Experts estimate that over 1,000 new companies were introduced and $7B+ was invested. This useful track will focus on some of the most innovative ideas that emerged in this period, and an assessment on where they stand today.

• CRE TECH 4.0 – A Status Report on the $7+ Billion Invested• CLOUD Migration Strategies – The Journey Continues• VTS and HIGHTOWER Integration – A Stakeholder Update

TRACK: PROCESS AUTOMATIONTechnology unto itself does not result in business improvement. It is through the combination of multiple technology tools that a process begins to become automated and ultimately, deliver a higher level of efficiency and effectiveness. Today’s tools include mobile devices, the cloud, software platforms and much more. In the case of Uber, that combination included a phone, the cloud, a rethink of the process, and a subsequent app that revolutionized ride services forever. The same is true in commercial real estate and this track will focus on historic processes that have already been automated and are ready for a refresh; or those that are new and revolutionizing the industry through automation.

• The Ever-Expanding ERP - The Industry’s Top Leaders Weigh In• Automating the LEASE PROCESS – Many Perspectives…Many Options• BUDGET & FORECASTING 5.0 – The Next Evolution• CAPITAL PROJECTS - Bringing Data Driven Precision to the Process

IBcon educatIon tracKs | June 14-15 TRACK: SMART BUILDING FOUNDATIONThe journey to a smart building begins once the business objectives have been identified and the strategy is put into place. History has shown that people start this journey at different points; sometimes a pilot program results in a larger project or a retrofit spurs the discussion. To achieve a comprehensive and sustainable smart building program there are some fundamental decisions to be made. Understanding the base building network, deciding on a comprehensive operating platform and understanding the nuances between technologies are just some of the foundational issues to be addressed in this track.

TRACK: BUILDING “BIG DATA”Historically, the building automation industry was primarily “single system, single vendor, single building.” While older traditional equipment provided some business information, it was rare that the data could be accessed and integrated into other platforms. In recent years, the idea of extracting data from building systems has become big business. Finding ways to access, retrieve, import, analyze and act on data promised to provide great insight into how to operate more efficient and effective buildings. This avalanche of data brings a host of new issues and questions. Deriving value from the data and ownership and governance, security, new technologies and new approaches are all addressed in this important track.
