Each crash cart contains a standardized inventory of equipment/supplies and medications including adult and pediatric sizes, as appropriate.

When not in use, the carts will be sealed/locked in order to maintain the integrity of the contents and prevent access to unauthorized persons.

On the first of each month the Cart will be opened and checked for correct inventory and expiration dates.

Each department/unit is responsible for inspecting the crash cart at least once every shift (during operational hours of the department/unit).

Once a cart has been opened or the seal/lock has been breached in

any manner, the entire cart will be removed from the department of use and replaced with a new cart.

PCC will remove medications and return them to pharmacy then take the cart to Purchasing for restocking.

PCC will bring you a new code cart. Be sure to transfer all the items on top of the old cart to the new one.
