No prior experience is required! Focusing on multi- harness weaving, learn how a loom works, become familiar with its parts and troubleshoot problems. The workshop will cover preparing yarn for the loom, warping and reading patterns. Work together to produce sampler dish towels, then design your own project, creating the warp and dressing the loom to weave a dish towel or scarf. Ages 16 & up. Materials cost TBD. Jennifer Lackey Jennifer Lackey learned handcrafts at her grandma’s knee, became a serious knitter in college and began spinning 17 years ago. She has been an obsessed weaver for the past 6 years, falling in love with gigantic coverlets and their history. She is an award-winning spinner and weaver, and serves as president of the Greater Birmingham Fiber Guild in Alabama. She has taught spinning and weaving for nearly 10 years. www.jeekeehoo.com
