We have a lot of manly men in our congregation. So as an expression of our
manliness, were planning the following event:
Mens Wild Game Supper
February 5, 2014, 6 PM
Speaker: Wayne Shepperd.
Wayne works for the National Center for Missing and Exploited
Children and will let us know what we men can do to help combat
the great evil of human trafficking that is luring thousandsof young women and men into sexual slavery every year.
What we need from you:
1. Plan to be there!
2. Bring a dish of wild game to share. Rabbit, venison, squirrel, elk,
moose...whatever youve got (well, maybe not possum).
No wild game? Bring something else to eat!3. Bring a friend.if you have one.
Other considerations:
Wear at least one piece of camouflage clothing or
face a $1 fine and the ridicule of all present.
Prizes for: best game dish, and for the man who looks most like a
Duck Dynasty family member.
HEY!Im over
here!
Huh?

JOY VILLAGEThere are many medical challenges for the small residents of Joy Village, largely
the result of the neglect and abuse suffered before coming into their Joy Villagefamilies. Also, 50% are HIV+ and require ongoing treatment. Visiting counselorsand physicians from the U.S. have provided extensive psychological testing andmedical screening. Joy Village hopes to provide adequate health insurance foreach child, funding and transport for medical and dental care, funding for medica-tions, and employment of a part-time counselor to deal with abuse and behaviorissues. All this requires money. Lets keep Joy Village in our thoughts and prayers, andcontinue our loving support.
WHERE HAS THE TIME FLOWN?Hard to believe a whole year has passed by! Reports will be due from
Ministry Team Leaders for the Annual Report. Please email your
report to the church office: January 27th through February 7th.

We are supporting two Navajo brothers Zach, who just turned 8, and
Lakota who will be 6 in January. The boys live in the Childrens Homes atNavajo Ministries where they are loved, cared for, and introduced to Jesus. Formore info on this ministry go to www.NavajoMinistries.orgor talk to Sandy.
Donation jars are in the church lobby and on the 3rd floor.
PARENTS! There are some awesome books available to you on loan
from Kid Ministry! Highlighted book this month =WORDS KIDS NEEDTO HEAR to Help Then Be Who God Made Them to Beby David Staal.
Words matter. Words can build up or tear down, pave a path toward God or setup roadblocks. What kids hear from the adults they trust makes a significant im-
pactnow and for years to come. Seven statements are simple to share, yetmake a profound impact on a childs life. They are:
I BELIEVE IN YOU ~ NO ~ I LOVE YOUYOU CAN COUNT ON ME ~ I TREASURE YOUIM SORRY. PLEASE FORGIVE ME ~ BECAUSE
Its a fast read that will give you some great insight on the power of words. Just
send me an email at [email protected] you would like to bor-row this book, or any of our other resources! Blessings, Sandy
