Design CP ValvesDesign CP valves are single-portvalves with integral flanges, stemguiding, and clamped-in, quick-change trim.

Integral Flanges...The valve isavailable in steel, stainless steel,and alloys for corrosion resist-ance; the integral flanges alloweasier maintenance compared toseparable-flange valves.

Flow Characteristics...Selectfrom linear or equal percentagetrim and full-size trim, restricted-capacity to meet changing flowand control requirements, or Mi-cro-Flow valve plugs for very lowflow rates.

Self-Aligning Trim...The valveplug and seat ring are concentricfor self-alignment, which easesmaintenance and promotes bettershutoff.

Parts Identification...Trim partsare marked with size, material,and part number. Plug-stem as-semblies are marked with flowcharacteristic and coefficient.

Standard or Long Face-to-FaceDimensions...ISA S75-03 is stan-dard, but long ISA S75.20 is op-tional.

Bidirectional Flow...The DesignCP valve can be used for eitherflow-up or flow-down to take ad-vantage of fluid dynamics in ac-tuator sizing for fail-closed ap-plications.

FloVue� Final Control System,Series 9000 Actuator

Compact and Lightweight. ..Thesmall size and low weight makeinstallation easy and saves space.For the size 20 actuator, systemweight is from 20 to 28 kilograms(44 to 62 pounds), and maximumheight is 447 millimeters (17-1/2inches) from the pipe centerline.

Peak Performance Maintai-ned...Two-way digital commu-nication provides current valve in-formation. Rely on this real-timeinformation to make sound pro-cess management decisions. Byanalyzing valve dynamics throughFIELDVUE ValveLink�software,you can identify control areasneeding improvement and thusmaintain high performance.

Increased ProcessUptime...The diagnostic capabilityof FIELDVUE instruments takesthe guesswork out of mainte-nance scheduling. The FIELDVUEdigital controller providesself-calibration, diagnostics, and acycle-count capability. Compar-ing valve/actuator data (seat load,friction, etc.) with previouslystored data shows when mainte-nance is needed.

Integrated Accessories...Thedigital valve controller, optionalswitch, and transmitter are an in-tegral part of the FloVue package.External piping, mounting brack-ets, and linkages are eliminated;this uncluttered package is easyto install.

Other Actuators

Type 657 and 667 PneumaticDiaphragm Actuators...Rugged,heavy-duty spring-return actua-tors. These actuators are avail-able for on-off or throttling opera-tion with or without a valvepositioner.

Type 585C and 585CR piston ac-tuators are available for highthrust requirements.

These actuators are available withFIELDVUE digital controller and avariety of instrument accessories,handwheels, and adjustable travelstops. They can be used for on-offor throttling operation with or with-out a valve positioner.

Type 330SA electric actuator andType 350 and Type 323 electro-hydraulic actuators permit valveoperation in locations where com-pressed air is difficult to supply.

Temperature and Pressure Drop SummaryTrim, bolting, and other parts are available to provide temperature capabilities shown in the table. PTFE gaskets,PTFE packing, and the optional PTFE seat allow a maximum temperature of 232�C or 450�F. Graphite gasketsand graphite packing can allow maximum temperature of 427�C or 800�F, depending upon packing type.

The valve is capable of pressure drops to 51.7 bar or 750 psi depending upon temperature, flow direction, materi-al, actuator size and supply pressure. Typical selections are shown on page 5-156. Do not exceed the pressure-temperature rating of the valve, the capabilities of any of the parts, or the capabilities of the actuator. For addition-al selections and for questions about pressure or temperature capabilities, contact your Fisher sales office.
