Kirsten Schrader Manager, CVRD Arts & Culture

WelcomeWelcome to our 40th anniversary season! In February 1979, the (then named) Cowichan Theatre, held its first performance. Vancouver Island had never seen such a well-planned, spacious venue with wide rows of seats and plenty of legroom, generous dressing rooms

for performers and the largest stage in BC next to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver. The biggest names in music and theatre have graced this stage since then: Dizzy Gillespie, Sarah McLachlan, k.d. lang, Diana Krall, Gordon Lightfoot, the Barenaked Ladies and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet to name a few.

Forty years later, the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) continues to host some of the biggest names in entertainment world-wide and is one of the busiest theatres in western Canada earning an esteemed reputation of a destination theatre.

This fall you will see a refreshed interior with new carpet and paint and we even have a new phone number 250.746.CPAC (2722). Check out our fall/winter line-up of fan favourites and buy your tickets early because many of these shows will sell out fast! For season ticket deals and advance ticket buying opportunities, subscribe to our email list from our website at cowichanpac.ca or sign-up via our Facebook page @CowichanPAC.

I'll save you a seat!

“It’s easy to get hypnotized by his hands as they dance

all over his guitar” – The Georgia Straight

Kim Churchill

Kim Churchill’s style is explosive, with intricate fingerpicking and percussive beats intertwined with powerful harmonica melodies and a soulful voice. This Aussie-born’s, roots-rock music reflects his deep-seeded connection to the sea and a harmonious bond with nature drawing you into every song with his remarkable vocal range and hypotonic finger-style.

Laila Biali is back by popular demand to round out the third season of the Cabaret Series with an eclectic and energetic performance.
