TERM 3 WEEK 1 24 JULY 2020
Dear Parents and Caregivers
I hope you all enjoyed a fabulous holiday! According to the news telling and holiday recounts this week, many families took holiday breaks in our regional areas enjoying the beauty and unique landscapes of our state.
COVID Road Map to Recovery Phase 4
WA is still operating in Phase 4 of the recovery. As a result, parents/carers and visitors may access the school site to attend meetings and for drop off and pick up purposes. Thank you to the families who are leaving the school grounds soon after the end of day pickup and ensuring their children are not playing on the school play equipment as this is still a requirement with Phase 4 restrictions on school sites. I would like to remind parents/caregivers with dogs to please keep them away from the school gates, as we have been notified that some of the younger children are concerned about dogs when entering and exiting school through the school gates. We would be grateful for parents/caregivers to continue to not enter classrooms for the time being. Teachers are available to meet with parents in prearranged meeting times during DOTT times or after school. We were hoping for assemblies to return to normal with the Phase 5 restrictions being implemented, however, unfortunately Phase 5 has been delayed. Therefore, it will be necessary to continue with the parents/caregivers of the students participating in the assembly to only attend to ensure the two square meeting distancing requirement is adhered to. The new tentative date for Phase 5 of the WA COVID-19 roadmap will be Saturday 1 August.
Health, Hygiene and Cleaning Arrangements for Term 3 will remain as before. The school will continue to have cleaning staff during the school day to regularly clean and disinfect high-contact surfaces that are frequently used by students and/ or staff.
Staff Changes
I would like to welcome back Mrs Dellaposta who has returned from leave. Mrs Dellaposta will be teaching on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Mrs Vodanovich will be teaching on Monday and Tuesday.
Welcome to Miss Tree who will be teaching the students in Room 3. Miss Tree will be teaching every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Mrs Pilmoor will continue teaching the students on Monday and Tuesday.
Mrs Alden will be teaching in Room 14 every Thursday and Friday with Mrs Messerschmidt teaching on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs Alden will continue to take EAL/D classes.

Bicycle Racks The new position for bicycles behind the music and art rooms seems to have gathered momentum with many of the bike racks being filled. There are a number of bike locks for students to use if they do not have one or have accidentally left it at home. It is recommended that students have bike locks for their bikes to ensure their security. The position of the bike racks will ensure that students’ bikes and scooters are not left out in the weather.
I would like to thank our wonderful gardener, Mr Des Morgan, who erected the colour-bond fence during the holidays to ensure greater security and less visibility of the bikes from the senior oval and surrounding streets.
Thank you Madison from Bunnings Belmont for donating 20 high quality bike locks to make the students’ bikes more secure.
Vegetable Garden I would like to thank the parents and families who came in during the holidays to weed and replant vegetables in the veggie garden. It looks terrific and will be a great benefit to the school.
Please stay healthy and safe.
Kind regards
Ian Bersan A/Principal
