Kindergarten Enrolments are Open Unfortunately, with the release of the above guidelines we can confirm that our Headstart program will not commence in Term 3. However, our Kindergarten enrolments for 2021 are open. It is essential that families wanting to send their child to our wonderful school next year contact the office as soon as possible so that appropriate planning can occur. Part of this process includes us contacting local preschools/day care centres to give us as much time as possible to get to know your cherubs.

SASS Staff Recognition Week During the week of 24-28 August, we celebrate the contribution that School Administrative and Support Staff make to the school community through SASS Staff Recognition Week. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of our SASS staff for their hard work, professionalism and making Wyoming Public School the friendly and welcoming school that it is.

NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy Congratulations to our wonderful canteen supervisor Annette Sharp who has worked hard to ensure our canteen menu continues to meet all requirements of the Healthy School Canteen Strategy. We thank Annette for her dedication in supporting the health and wellbeing of all students at Wyoming Public School.

Till next time Rebecca Wild PRINCIPAL

PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION 2020 Our Annual Public Speaking Competition will look a little different this year. All Central Coast Schools

will not compete in the Central Coast Primary Schools Public Speaking Competition for 2020. Our school has decided to go ahead with the competition this term, where only students will deliver their speeches to teachers and their peers. No parent will be able to attend the annual Public Speaking Competition stage winners this year. Students have four weeks to prepare a short speech and present to their class in Week 7. The aim is to develop students’ public speaking skills and confidence when talking in front of an audience. Only one winner will be chosen from each class and they will present their speech to their stage in Week 9. A stage winner will be chosen and will be filmed for school view only and presented to classes in Week 10. Students are to choose one from the topics below: • Grown-ups are weird species • If I had a million dollars • My greatest hero • We can make our world a better place A reminder for the length of speech Early Stage 1 - 1 Minute approximately Stage 1 - 1 -2 Minutes Stage 2 - 2 -3 Minutes Stage 3 - 3 minutes It is acceptable for parents to assist in the writing of the speech. We encourage all the children to participate and enjoy themselves on the day of delivery. Carly Dufficy PUBLIC SPEAKING ORGANISER
