COVID 19: Risk Communication and Community Engagement Update Communication with Communities (CwC) Working Group (with support from CHWG & HPWG) 24-30 September 2020 CwC WG and its members so far have developed and disseminated total 345 (225 for COVID 19) multisectoral, needs-based, actionable and culturally appropriate contents in different languages, easily accessible at Shongjog website. Around 1,104 cascade training/orientation sessions on different COVID 19 issues have been organized where 10,359 staff/volunteers were trained. In camp, 695708, 724549 and 807009 people have been reached through neighborhood-based inter-personal communication sessions with key COVID 19 messages by CwC WG, CHWG, and HPWG respectively. 954,249 people have been reached through 152,373 sessions conducted by the religious leader in camp. 554,285 and 317,994 people have been consulted with on COVID 19 messages through community consultation meetings by CwC WG and CHWG respectively in camp. 347,786 people have been reached through community awareness session on COVID 19 by CwC WG in host community. 152,825 community people participated at 20,011 radio listener group session in camp and 2,253 people participated at 477 radio listener group session in host community. 9,063 video/film show sessions conducted on COVID 19 in camp. 107 Information service centers (103 in the camp and 4 in the host community) operated to receive community people's feedback and complaints. COVID 19 messages are being announced through loudspeaker and megaphone on CNG/Tomtom auto-rickshaw in and around 34 camps and 31 union parishad under Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Teknaf, Ukhiya, Pekua, Ramu and Maheshkhali sub-district. Cumulative Progress as of 30 September 2020 Communication Resource: The CwC bulletin, COVID 19: Risk Communication and Community Engagement Update-17-23 September 2020 has been circulated among all members. 10 Audios (PSA/podcast/narrowcast) have been developed. CwC WG has been sharing message and materials (audio and printable) developed by different CwC agencies. These are available on Shongjog website. Rohingya Camps: Around 18 cascade training/orientation sessions on COVID 19 have been organized and 145 staff/volunteers participated. 377,840 people (CwC WG 102,450 & CHWG 275,390) have been reached through 179,426 neighborhood-based inter-personal communication sessions (CwC WG 43,897 & CHWG 135,529) with key COVID 19 messages. 51,925 people have been reached through 8,664 sessions conducted by the religious leader. 72,725 people (CwC WG 35, 379 & CHWG 27,246) have been consulted with on COVID 19 key messages in around 24,193 community consultation meetings (CwC WG 13,162 & CHWG 11,031). 4,339 community people participated at 645 listener group session and 414 video/film show sessions conducted on COVID 19. 76 Information service centers operated to receive community people's feedback and complain. COVID 19 messages are being announced through loudspeaker and megaphone on CNG/Tomtom auto-rickshaw in and around 16 camps. Bangladeshi Communities: 6,018 people (Baharchhara 573, Bara Maheskhali 263, Chakmarkul 270, Chhoto Maheskhali 148, Dhalghata 185, Hoanak 131, Kalarmarchhara 201, Khuniapalong 36, Kutubjom 212, Magnama 594, Maheskhali 207, Matarbari 126, Palong Khali 801, Rajakhali 584, Saflapur 180, Teknaf 687, Ujantia 683, and Whykong 137) have been reached through 2,005 community awareness session on COVID 19, 416 community people participated at 91 listener group session and four information service centers operated to receive community people’s feedback and complain.
