COVERED CALIFORNIA JANUARY ENROLLMENT EVENTS THROUGHOUT SAN DIEGO COUNTY SAN DIEGO (January 8, 2015) Individuals can now enroll for health insurance through Covered California. The open enrollment period is scheduled to end Sunday, February 15, 2015. Covered California provides individuals, whether sick or healthy, the opportunity to get the coverage they need. Enrollees may be eligible to receive tax credits, financial assistance, or Medi- Cal. For example, a family of four with a household income between $21,311 - $79,160 may be eligible for financial help to purchase insurance through Covered California. It is important to note that any U.S. citizen or person who is lawfully present in California can acquire health insurance through Covered California, even if they have individuals in their household who are undocumented. Undocumented residents will not be eligible for health plans through Covered California but may qualify for limited Medi-Cal programs.
