616 East College Avenue, Apartment 108 State College, PA, 16801 21 February 2015 Mr. Stefan Catsicas Executive Vice President, Nestlé Nestlé Headquarters, Switzerland Dear Mr. Catsicas: I am writing to apply for the Nestlé USA Operations Management Trainee Program that was posted in the engineering job search system at Pennsylvania State University. Through three years of technical education in mechanical engineering and various leadership positions in Pennsylvania State University’s Naval Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, I have been involved in several technical projects, led upwards of 30 men and women in academics and physical fitness, and gained experience with lab equipment through course work and project involvement. The positional requirements mesh well with my abilities and interests in mechanical engineering. Would you please consider me for the position? The job posting indicates a need for candidates with strong communication, leadership and organizational skills. Through my experience leading men and women in Navy ROTC, I have evolved into an advanced team leader and public speaker. Coordinating tasks for upwards of 30 midshipmen can be quite complicated, especially when each person has a different schedule and course load. I take pride in setting an example for my peers to follow and those that come after me to learn from. On any given day I speak in front of up to 187 people including several high ranking Naval officers with 20 plus years of military service, and am therefore comfortable speaking in nearly any situation. Most of my pride in leadership comes not from my own personal accomplishments, but from the accomplishments of the men and women I advise on a day to day basis that reflect the future of the United States’ military. My experience in mechanical engineering courses at Penn State has given me the tools to analyze and come to distinct conclusions about data I am presented using various statistical analysis techniques. I have extensive experience with all Microsoft Office programs as well as MATLAB and SolidWorks; I feel comfortable working with these programs at a professional level.

Mr. Stefan Catsicas

Executive Vice President, Nestl

Nestl Headquarters, Switzerland

Dear Mr. Catsicas:

I am writing to apply for the Nestl USA Operations Management Trainee Program that was posted in the engineering job search system at Pennsylvania State University. Through three years of technical education in mechanical engineering and various leadership positions in Pennsylvania State Universitys Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps, I have been involved in several technical projects, led upwards of 30 men and women in academics and physical fitness, and gained experience with lab equipment through course work and project involvement.

Most of my pride in leadership comes not from my own personal accomplishments, but from the accomplishments of the men and women I advise on a day to day basis that reflect the future of the United States military.

The enclosed rsum provides an overview of my education and experience in more detail. Please feel free to contact me at (570)-856-0910 or [email protected] to discuss my qualifications. I would love to have the opportunity to speak with you about the Nestl USA Operations Management Trainee Program for summer 2015. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Very Respectfully,

Ronald M. Ryder
