Dear Potential Employer,

I am a mainframe application developer with 35 years of experience in the healthcare payer,

banking and insurance industries, who happens to be legally blind. The benefits of a blindness

are attention to details, comprehensive planning and listening skills are second nature. I use

screen enlargement software or the ease of access magnification feature of Windows in

conjunction with a wide screen monitor. Depending on your company policy I can either supply

my own monitor or use a company supplied monitor. Printed materials are handled with a

magnifying glass or a closed circuit TV camera and small monitor.

Please note that I have stayed with all of my previous employers for an extended period of

time because a good employer is hard to find. This is reflected in my attitude. My previous

people care manager has commented “You are a wonderful person who exudes warmth and

caring about your projects, account, and co-workers, and you are a conscientious, dedicated,

hard-worker. I truly appreciated having you on my team.” I received a recognition award for

customer satisfaction for my technical manager.
