Champagne Lallier are a small familyconcern crafting Pinot Noir blends fromtheir own (and some specially selectedother) 'Grand Cru' vineyards in Aÿ, alsohome to Bollinger, but Lallier's cellarsare older, Avize, and Cramant.

Classified as 100 out of 100, 'Grand Cru'vineyards are the crème de la crème ofvineyard sites. Like Bollinger, Lallier'swines use a high proportion of PinotNoir in their blends (the Rosé is 100%Pinot Noir), so with Champagne Lallier

you get a Pinot Noirdominated blend fromGrand Cru and PremierCru sites - a rarity.

Lanson Black LabelCrisp, fresh, lemony stylewhich becomes more complexwith age. Fresh aromas combine the impression of vitality and springtimescents, together with hints of ‘toast’ and honey, witha long but delicate finish.

Lanson RoséDelicate pink colour with flavours of raspberry and blackcurrant. The wine has harmonious balance and good length on the finish.

Jules Féraud Award winning champagne. A fresh, dry wine with a finemousse of tiny bubbles and a good balance of fruit andacidity, with a minimum of 3 ½ years of bottle ageing.

Jules Féraud RoséBeautiful deep pink champagne with a rich, intensely fruity nosewhich follows through on the palate, with red fruits prevailing onthe finish.

Mercier BrutMercier Brut has a bouquet marked by white stone fruits andnotes of fresh bread. Aromas of ripe apple and pear developfully on the palate for a delightfully fresh finish.

Mercier RoséMercier Brut Rosé is initially distinguished by its beautiful pink color and coppery glimmers. The bouquet is redolent of wild berries from the forest. On the palate, the first impression is of suppleness, with a delectable languor refreshed by the fruitiness of the grapes.

Collet BrutA warm golden colour with an intense, almost amber, hue.Initial impressions are of spices, fresh butter and ripe wheat. On the palate it is vinous, powerful and robust.

H Blin Demi SecGolden deep yellow, notes of ripe fruits, apricot, prune and peach.Long and persistent nuances of caramalised almonds and vanilla.

Collet Rosé Raspberry-pink this mellow creamy champagne is round and fruitywith rose, honey and cinnamon aromas.

ChampagneLike the Melton Mowbray pork pie or Roquefort cheese, Champagne has gained Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status, and can only be produced in the Champagne region in northern France. Although the Americans still continue to use theterm “Champagne”, they, at least, have to clearly indicate the fizzy wine’s true geographical origin!

Unexpectedly for a wine that is quintessentially light and white, champagne is made from predominantly black grapes. Less than 30 per cent of Champagne's vineyards are light-skinned Chardonnay, the white burgundy grape. The red burgundy grape Pinot Noir is planted on almost 40 per centof Champagne's infertile vineyard soils. The region's third main variety, with about a third of the vineyard, is Pinot Meunier, a fruitier, earlier-maturingrelative of Pinot Noir.

The essence of Champagne is, of course, the sparkle. And this sparkle derives from a secondary fermentation which takes place in the reinforced bottles that are so familiar, where the combination of the base wines (the blend of wines from the different grapes), sugar and yeast give off the perfect amount of carbon dioxide. Although the number of renowned Champagne houses is relatively few, the grapes are in fact grown by thousandsof smallholders. It is this diversity of production that the big houses argue forms the basis of the consistently good champagne. Most champagne isNon-Vintage (NV), with the grapes coming from more than one year’s harvest. A vintage champagne takes double the time to produce, and can only

be made in years of exceptional quality. It also has the effect of those quality grapes being unavailable for blending with previous and futureyears’ harvests to maintain quality standards year in year out.

We are delighted to present our exclusive, award-winning Champagne, Jules Feraud and Jules Feraud Rosé. In 2010, this wine beat all the majorChampagne houses to win the title “Best in Class” at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, and we are rightly proud of that achievement.

The Champagne region of France is one of the mostheavily praised wine regions on Earth.

Moët & Chandon, the champagne of success and glamour since 1743, is an international icon of luxuryand the world’s favourite champagne. AustraliaAustralia is the fourth largest exporter of wine, most of whichis produced in the Southern, cooler parts of the country, withvineyards located in South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania and Queensland.

Vine cuttings from the Cape of Good Hope were brought to thepenal colony of New South Wales in 1788. Early Australian winemakers faced many difficulties, particularly due to the unfamiliar Australian climate. However they eventually achieved considerable success. At the 1873 Vienna Exhibition the French judges, tasting blind, praised some wines from Victoria, but withdrew in protest when the provenance of the wine was revealed, on the grounds that wines of that quality must clearly be French!

Up until the late 1970s, Australian wine production consisted largely, but not exclusively, of sweet and fortified wines. Since then, Australia has rapidlybecome a world leader in both the quantity and quality of wines it produces.

De Bortoli Wines is a third generation familywine company established by Vittorio andGiuseppina De Bortoli in 1928. The couple emigrated to Australia from Northern Italy. Italian family values passeddown from Vittorio remain core values to thisday. There is a culture of hard work, generosity of spirit and of sharing goodfood, good wine and good times withfamily and friends.De Bortoli has vineyards in four diverse regions, the Riverina, Yarra Valley, King Valley and Hunter Valley.

The Yarra Valley is Victoria's oldest wine region, has over 3,600 hectaresunder vine and crushes around 19,000 tonnes of grapes annually.

ZEALAND

New Zealand is a country of contrasts with dense, native forest,snow-capped mountains and spectacular coastline. With winegrowing regions spanning the latitudes of 36 to 45 degrees andcovering the length of 1000 miles (1,600km), grapes are grown ina vast range of climates and soil types, producing a diverse array ofstyles. The northern hemisphere equivalent would run from Bordeaux (between the latitudes of 44 and 46 degrees) down tosouthern Spain.

New Zealand's temperate, maritime climate has a strong influenceon the country's predominantly coastal vineyards. The vines are warmed by strong, clear sunlight during the day and cooled at night by sea breezes. The long, slow ripening period helps to retain the vibrant varietal flavours that make New Zealand wine so distinctive.

The special combination of soil, climate and water, their innovative pioneering spirit and commitment to quality all come together to deliver pure, intense and diverse experiences.

The Yarra Valley is Victoria's oldest wine region, has over3,600 hectares under vine and crushes around 19,000

California’s Central Valley is a large, flat valley that dominates the central areaof the state. The valley is a vast agricultural region drained by the Sacramentoand San Joaquin rivers. The state of California was first introduced tovines in the 18th century by the Spanish, whoplanted vineyards with each mission they established.

Worldwide recognition of USA wines seemedimminent until 1919 with the beginning of prohibition. Vineyards were ordered to be uprooted and cellars were destroyed. Somevineyards were able to survive by converting to table grape or grape juice production. A few more continued to provide churches with sacramental wine but most went out of business.

Prohibition was repealed in 1933, but it tooknearly 30 years for the California wine industryto recover, helped by a new wave of winemakers with a focus on new wine makingtechnologies and an emphasis on quality.

A watershed moment for the industry occurredin 1976 when several Californian wineries wereinvited to participate in a blind tasting event inParis. It was to compare the best of Californiawith the best of Bordeaux and Burgundy. In anevent known as The Judgement of Paris, Californian wines shocked the world by sweeping the wine competition in both red and white categories.

Our flagship wine, “770 Miles” offers eleganceand finesse in stylish presentation. The name isa reference to the length of the state of California. Yet if the State of California were a country it would bethe fourth largestwine producer inthe World.

The Mendoza Province is one of Argentina’s most important wine regions, accounting for nearly two thirds of the country’s entire wine production.Located at the foothills of the Andes in the shadow of Mount Aconcagua, vineyards are planted at some of the highest altitudes in the world with the average site located 600 - 1,100 metres above sea level. Mendoza has a

continental climate and semi- arid desert conditions.Mountain rivers provideample water supplies from melted glaciers in the Andes, and a system of irrigation channels, canals and reservoirs, some dating back to the 16th century, help sustain viticulture in this semi- arid desert region.

While acreage of Malbec is declining in France, in Argentina the grape is surging and hasbecome a ‘’national variety’’. First introduced to the region in the mid 19th century it ischaracterised by its deep colour, intense fruity flavours and velvety texture with excellent ageing potential.

FRANCE

BordeauxDespite the decline in volumes of wine produced, and decline in domestic consumption, France still remains thenumber one producer of wine in the world. It is a proud nation, with a history of wine-making dating back to the 6th century BC.

It has exported many of its grape varieties, CabernetSauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah

(Shiraz), and then been faced with “new” wineproducing countries cultivating these grape varietiesto produce wines every bit as good as those fromFrance.

Ask a French viticulturalist, or viniculturalist, whatmakes French wines so special, and he or she willinevitably talk about “terroir”. The notion of “terroir”, (for which no acceptable translation exists), links the style of the wines to the specificlocations where the grapes are grown and where the wine is made.It is the combination of soil, of geology, of climate, of altitude, of orientation, of microbiological activity, and especially of history, thatthe French maintain cannot be reproduced elsewhere, and why Frenchwines are still the best in the world!

The other concept which defines French wine is the Appellation d’Origine Controlee (AOC) system. Appellation rules closely definewhich grape varieties and winemaking practices are approved for classification in each of France's several hundred geographically definedAppellations, which can cover entire regions, individual villages or evenspecific vineyards. This is being replaced by Appellation d'Origine Protégée (AOP), the highest category of wine classification. The wineswhich follow all carry AOP status, but cover such a large spectrum ofquality and price as to make further investigation essential.

For Dulong, it is aquestion of working in partnership with theowners, according to specifications thatmake it possible to produce wines whosequality is monitored and that are representative of their terroir, with an ongoing focus on increasing quality and concern for the environment.

The properties in the Dulong Quality Charterwere among the first to receive the Sustainable Agriculture Qualification, the essential themes of which relate to traceability, health, occupational safety, soilmanagement, crop protection, hygiene, waste management and environmental conservation.

Crus ClassésSaint Emilion

The French have long held the view that they make the finest wines inthe world, and can be slow to recognise the quality of wines producedelsewhere, particularly in the New World. Perhaps for this reason, theyhave lost the dominance that their wines once had in the UK market, asthey failed to recognise the emergence of other nations and their abilityto produce consistently good wines for everyday drinking. They have alsodefended stoutly the classification system, resulting from the 1855 Exposition in Paris, where Napoleon III requested a classification systemfor France’s best Bordeaux wines which were to be on display for visitorsfrom around the world.

Brokers from the wine industry ranked the wines according to a château'sreputation and trading price, which at that time was directly related toquality, and that has given certain Châteaux the right to claim an ongoingposition on the top table, regardless of the quality of the vintage on offer.

Nevertheless, there is no disputing that, at their best, French wines remain among the most complex, interesting and enjoyable, and we are delighted to present from our range of Cru Classe wines.

Please note we have displayed only a selection of the Cru Classe wines wecan offer, chosen from each region. Other wines are available. We will behappy to discuss your wishes and requirements, and will endeavour to source wines on demand.

La Reine de l'Arenite La Madone Fleurie VA heady perfume of freshly picked irises and peonies drift above thecrushed berry fruit nose. The fleshy, luscious, cherry flavours andhints of rose are typically vivacious, backed up with a touch of spice and good depth.

Château de l’Abbaye Saint Laurent d’Arpaye Fleurie VThe delightful aromas of dark berries, ripe raspberries and peoniesaccompanied by hints of white flowers blend on the palate with the light tannins.

Château de l’Abbaye

A monastic holding until the French Revolution, this property bears witness to the influence of religious communities on the Beaujolais winemaking industry. The Benedictine monks who came to clear the Fleurie slopes settled there and founded the Abbey of Saint-Laurent d’Arpaye around the year 1000.

Attached to the immensely powerful Abbey ofCluny, it was seized by the State at the timeof the Revolution and was gradually broken up.

Eventually purchased in 1904 by the Quinsonfamily, the property’s value was enhanced bythe construction of the present-day Château.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape VA sustained garnet red colour, with a bouquet of small redfruit and spice. The palate is generous, round and very full.

Gigondas VA wine which is expressive, potent and complex. The bouquet is of dark fruit relayed by spice, liquorice, a fewhints of scrub and then pleasant woody notes at the end.The palate is well-balanced with very present but mellowtannins, with the Syrah dominating.

Crozes-Hermitage VA dark red colour, with an intense bouquet of red fruit accompanied by a few notes of leather and spice. After a keen, mouth-watering attack, the wine is suave on the palate with a lingering impression of balance.

Les Galets Roules Châteauneuf-du-PapeA great youthful mouthful of Châteauneuf - Provencal garrigue aromas lead to a palate of sweet cherry flavours - Châteauneuf-du-Pape for the modern wine drinker.

Côtes du Rhône St Michel BernardClear, bright and garnet coloured with fruity aromas. Rich and soft to taste, with well-balanced fruit.

La Fleur Soltaire' Cotes du Rhone Blanc VA pretty and delicate nose, with hints ofhedgerow flowers. The flavours are nuancedand refined rather than overt, these are notdemonstrative grape varieties and need gentle handling to maintain the delicateflavours and freshness. Careful use of oak adds texture and vinosity.

BeaujolaisBeaujolais Villages VConsistently clear, bright ruby red in colour. Red berry aromas mingle with spices. Supple and structured with silky tannins, well-balanced, a lively finish underlying a lingering, fruity aroma.

Domaine Champs du Chêne, Juliénas VThis very drinkable red has an appealing sappy character with hints of fresh cherry & pepper on the nose, juicy fruit and a comforting earthiness on the finish.

Brouilly VA sustained ruby red with a bouquet of fine intensity. Red fruitsblend with notes of sweet spice. A contrast of vinosity and freshness with lingering mineral notes.

The vineyards of Beaujolais stretch over 21,655 hectares, from Mâcon in the north to Lyon in the south, covering therolling slopes of the hills of Beaujolais, ranging in altitudefrom 700 to over 1,000 metres (3,280 feet).

The “clear juice” Gamay Noir grape variety reigns supreme because it offers an extraordinary range of wines from the very fine and aromatic Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villageswines to the extremely rich and complex Beaujolais crus, such as Brouilly and Fleurie, each with its own specific character linked to the different terroirs.

Through its very calling, the Rhône valley has always been a privileged right of way between the Mediterranean and northernEurope or the Atlantic. In the middle ages, Châteauneuf was renamed Châteauneuf du Pape the day the Popes of Rome chosethe region as a holiday retreat.

Rhône vineyards take their personality from an amazing variety ofsoils, climates and grape varieties. These three elements lie behindthe very specific character of Côtes du Rhône wines, but it is doubtless the commitment of people that forged the appellationand created genuine personality.

Victor Bérard is a negociantoperation based at RomanecheThorins, a small town only acouple of miles east of Fleuriebut just outside the appellation boundaries. While he is mostly known for his selection of deliciousBeaujolais, these Rhône winesjust serve to affirm his excellent wine selectionprocess.

BurgundyWhile Bordeaux is known for its history of commercial success, world-renownedchâteaux, and bold, age-worthy wines, Burgundy elicits a more emotional responsefrom its admirers. Beyond their fabulously complex, delicious taste, there is a definite sensuality to Burgundian wines.

Furthermore, there are a few key differences between the regions. The first is ownership. While most Châteaux in Bordeaux are owned by single families, most Burgundy vineyardsare divided among several owners. Thanks to inheritance laws dating from Napoleon, small vineyards in extremecases may have as many as a hundred owners. The result is an appellation system of such labyrinthine complexitythat even learning how to read a Burgundy wine label can be quite a challenge.

The second key difference is scarcity. Not counting Beaujolais, Burgundy produces only a quarter as much wine as Bordeaux. And since the landholdings are so divided, a typical Burgundy winemaker may produce 500 cases of agiven wine, compared with 15,000 for a typical Bordeaux.

The third major difference lies in blending. Where Bordeaux wines are almost exclusively blends, Burgundy wines arejust the opposite. A Burgundy red is always Pinot Noir; a white is always Chardonnay. Part of the reason Burgundywines are so impressive is that they manage to coax such subtlety and complex flavors from a single grape.

50 million years ago, the Vosges and the Black Forest still formed one single moun-tain range. A succession of tectonic events and the subsidence of the central part ofthis mountain range created a wide plain bordered by the river Rhine. Over this plain the Rhine scattered huge deposits of gravel. These bare details go toexplain the enormous diversity of soils in the vineyards, mainly distributed on theslopes that mark the area of fracture between the mountain range that remained and the area of subsidence.

Pruning is by the traditional Alsace cane-bending system. Almost all the rows aregrassed over in order to provide complete protection for the vines. This avoids having to use products that are harmful to useful creatures (ladybirds, lacewings, etc).

EnglandEngland has a small, but underestimated, wine growing industry. The realities of climateand latitude mean that it is unlikely to everrival established wine producing nations. However, the fact is that although thegrapevine is most productive in sunnier, hotterclimates, it produces wine of the very highest quality where it is at the very margin of its existence, namely England.

“Chapel Down continues to winawards for outstanding wines.”

German wines have come a long way since the 1970’s and 1980’s. Inthose days, the German Wine Law of 1971 dictated that wine qualitywould be measured by a device known as a refractometer, which determined the sugar content of the grapes. The higher the content, the better the quality of the wine!

The result was a steady invasion of German vineyards by vine varieties specially bred to provide super-ripe grapes, led by the much-mocked, but highly commercial, Liebfraumilch. The major casualty was the

difficult-to-ripen Riesling vine, Germany's greatest asset. Riesling, grown on the steep, slatey banks of the river Mosel is the epitome of traditional German wine: aromatic, delicate,long-lived, and unlike any wine made anywhere else in the world!

German wine labels have not conformed to thedrive for commerciality, and remain a mystery toall but the serious wine student. To simplify, wecan break the label down into three things - grapevariety, quality level and region.

Most German wines are made from single grape varieties, specified on thelabel, with Riesling being by far the dominant grape variety.

Over 200 years ago the Schmitt ancestors settled in the small villageof Longuich, located along the MoselRiver, and began managing vineyards andproducingwine.

The Sepp Moser estate was founded by the famous Austrianwine producing pioneer, Lenz Moser. Lenz Moser's son, SeppMoser, began operating under his own name in 1987 andhanded over the direction of this family-owned estate tohis own son Nikolaus in the year 2000.

The Sepp Moser estate comprises 50 acres of vineyards in two prominent wine regions; Kremstal (22 ha) and

Neusiedlersee (28 ha). In the Kremstal, Nikolaus produces an international range of varieties as well as the ever more important local varieties of Gruner Veltliner and Riesling. The reds are produced on the gravelly soils of the warm southern Neusiederslee village of Apetlon.

Ever since the 1920’s, the history of the Pasqua company has been entwined with that ofthe family.

It was then that Nicola, the oldest of the Pasqua brothers, movedto Verona from Trani in Puglia, where the rest of the family lived. His intention was to pursue the activity in which the family wasinvolved, opening up a shop for the sale of wines in bulk and bythe glass.

Nicola’s success with importing Puglianwines soon allowed his younger brothers, Riccardo, Natale and Umberto to also move to Verona.

Nearly 100 years later, the third generation of the Pasqua familyassures the continuity of the familycompany, with the new headquartersand winery built in 2007, from wherethese fabulous wines come.

- The Pasqua Family -The first generation of the Pasqua Family is the signature and seal of the most precious bottles, enshrining all the family’s culture and winemaking tradition: top Veneto wines chosen andinterpreted by Pasqua’s third generation. A perfect union

Perhaps surprisingly, Spain has more hectares ofland under vine than any other country, but ranksonly third in terms of wine production after Franceand Italy, due to its low yields and wide spacing ofvineyards on often unfertile ground.

But if it had a reputation for inconsistent wines, based largely on a varying climate due to its large geographical spread, and an equally widespread ownership and production, Spain has shaken off thatmantle. Investment and ambition in vineyard andwinery are resulting in more and more rich – oftenhighly alcoholic – spicy reds that are finding increasingfavour among international consumers weaned on ripe New World wines.

Spanish wines are often labelled according to the amount of ageing the wine has received, specifically in oak barrels.
