Living and Ageing Gracefully and Positively
with Jan Cheatley
This program focuses on living with loss and change, stress, and ageing positively.
Loss and change are inevitable in life’s journey—discover how to build
understanding and find ways to move through with minimal damage and better
coping strategies.
Stress—harness the stress in your life and turn it into a positive force. The focus
will be on practical tips for managing financial stress and budgeting.
Ageing—look at strategies to keep attitudes ‘young’ and living enjoyable. ‘Old
and growing’ versus ‘growing old’.
Jan is a qualified counsellor, having spent 30 years in this field, including 20 years
as Director of Lifeline Geelong, focussing on grief, depression, conflict and anger
management, self-esteem, coping with change and assertiveness. Her professional
background also includes teaching in a variety of roles over 30 years.

BCLS is an independent Community Legal Service that is funded by the State
and Federal Governments to provide free legal information, advice and
casework to local communities.
Areas of law that they can help with include
General Law (debt and credit matters, guardianship, traffic offences, motor
vehicle accidents, neighbourhood disputes, wills, and powers of attorney)
Centrelink Matters (Centrelink debts, disputes and appeals)
Child Support
Fines
Immigration Law
This session will be based around your questions so come along and ask away.
It is a great opportunity for some free legal advice in a local setting.

Mindfulness & Meditation for Young People
Tutor | Simon Mills
A new fun course specifically designed for children
of primary school age, utilising varied learning
techniques which will see them laughing and
learning at the same time.
Research shows that mindfulness training improves
attention, memory processing, creativity, calmness,
self-awareness and decision making abilities, and
increases the ability to self-regulate emotions,
especially difficult emotions such as fear and anger,
through breathing and other techniques.
Simon brings a peaceful and calming energy to the
classroom. His style of teaching balances a fun,
relaxed environment with focus and discipline.
Simon is well known in the local education scene
having taught swimming and water safety for the
past 20 years along the Surf Coast.

Vintage Fashion with Maz Clark
Vintage Fashion is affordable, stylish, individual and
good for the planet. The secret to do-it-yourself
vintage restyling is being able to spot the potential in
an item of clothing you might already own and
combine it with recycled garments and vintage pieces
to create new looks.
The next Vintage Fashion course will start in May and
will be facilitated by Maz Clark. Maz has always had a
passion for fashion as well as a love for the
theatre. She has a Diploma in Fashion Design &
Production, specializing in pattern making, cutting and
garment construction and many years of experience
in these areas.
Maz’s classes are always fun and creative so don’t
miss out on a great opportunity to explore your
creativity and improve your sewing and design skills.

Drum Circle
with Lisa Singline
A Drum Circle is a great way to get in touch with your own
rhythm using djembe drums and percussion instruments.
Designed for all levels of experience including beginners, be
guided to learn a range of rhythms that can be layered
together within the group. Have some fun unleashing your
unique rhythm and expression.
Families are welcome but please contact Lisa to discuss.
Bring your own drum or drums can be supplied.

*10 June is a long weekend—however it may
be possible to move this date to 8 July.
Cost | $75 for 5 weeks with an option to try it first for
$15 on 3 June which will be discounted from
