Production Technology (2 credit package -

Block 2C): TGJ4M – Communication Technology

ADV4M – Drama – Film/Video

SBI 4UP – Advanced Placement Biology

Studies in Education (Block A)

IDC4U – Ideal for students who want to

teach. Students will have the opportunity to

teach all levels of curriculum in a variety of

subject areas and learn about teaching

strategies and assessment in Canada and

around the world.

Special Courses/Packages:

Personal Fitness – CrossFit (Block F)

PAF4O – The CrossFit specific course combines

foundational movements and knowledge to increase

student fitness. Students will master foundational

movements such as: squat, dead lift, presses, pull-ups etc.

and then combine these movements into various CrossFit

Workouts of the day. Students will attempt to improve on

their results throughout the year using bench mark

standards and personal bests. Students will be evaluated on

their ability to explain and demonstrate movements, effort

in obtaining their goals, and various fitness tests that assess

all facets of fitness.

Special Courses/Packages:

Leadership (2 Credits – BLOCK 2B)IDC4U & IDC3O – this program has the potential to be 2 credits

towards your diploma! Students must take the grade 11 credit as a

prerequisite for the grade 12 credit. This course prepares and

motivates students to provide leadership within the school.

Students will develop coaching, teamwork, and conflict

management skills while they manage a team, convene special

events and school-wide projects and peer support roles. They will

design and implement a plan for contributing to their school

and/or community; develop skills in communication, interpersonal

relations, teamwork, and conflict management; and apply those

skills in leadership and/or peer support roles within the classroom

and school community. Students will examine group dynamics and

learn the value of diversity within groups and communities.

Enviroventure (4 Credits – Block 4A)Students work in an outdoor environment

for a full semester so a love of the outdoors

is a must for this all day, all semester

course. Students are expected to accept the

challenge of both working independently

and in close co-operation with their

classmates. It is a very physically active

course. For more specific information,

Special Courses/Packages:

Special Effects Make- (TXA3E)This course enables students to develop

knowledge and skills in special effects

make-up through a variety of applications.

Students will identify trends in the special

effects make-up industry and expand their

communication and interpersonal skills

through interactions with peers and clients.

Students will also learn about

apprenticeship and direct-entry work

positions.

New Courses:

Barbering (TXH3E)This course enables students to develop

knowledge and skills in barbering through a

variety of applications.

Students will identify trends in the

barbering and hairstyling industry and

expand their communication and

interpersonal skills through interactions

with peers and clients. Students will also

learn about apprenticeship and direct-entry

work positions.

New Courses:

Sports & Entertainment Marketing

(PLF4M)This course builds on students’ existing interests

in sports and entertainment while making

connections to the business and marketing

industry. The class will conduct community and

school interest surveys in order to initiate

projects. There is an emphasis on sport

management and marketing, event and

promotional management using technological

resources and business software. This course

combines the expectations from curriculum

within Business and PHE leadership courses.

options for the 2021-2022 school year. If you are interested in taking
