Step 5: Verify (May 20th- May 24th) Contact your counselor for elective changes by May 24th! Level change requests MUST go through the Dept. chair. Staffing and sectioning decisions were based on your original course selections so changes are NOT

GUARANTEED and will be processed on A SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS OVER THE SUMMER. Schedules will be viewable through Home Access in mid-August.

Step 3: Select (January 15th through January 31st) Select elective choices in Home Access Center beginning January 15th. This is required by January 31st. Home

Access Center will close at the end of the day.

Instructions for selecting courses online: Go to https://homeaccess.ipsd.org/HomeAccess/ and log in using your parents log in information.

1. Click on the “Classes” icon across the top of the page.

2. Select the “Requests” tab.

3. Teacher Recommendations will be indicated on this page and cannot be changed.

4. Click an “Edit” button to enter a recommendation.

5. Place a checkmark in the course(s) being requested.

6. Click the “Save” button.

7. Confirm that “Total Credits” is 7.0.

Do not enter backup courses. Your counselor will ask for these at your counselor meeting.

If you have a course locked in your home access center that you do not want (excluding level changes) contact

your counselor.

Regular or Honors? Placement Questions? Your teacher will make their best recommendation based on many factors. If you disagree with a recommendation, a parent or guardian must take the step below by February 15th. Level Up request (example: regular to honors)- A parent/guardian must contact the appropriate High School Department Chair by February 15th. Level Down request (example: honors to regular)- A parent/guardian must contact the appropriate High School Department Chair by February 15th. Department Chairs for core courses are listed below and will notify the counselor of approved changes

Step 4: Finalize with your counselor (January 28th - February 15th) Meet with your counselor to finalize your course selections. Please have your course request entered into Home Access Center prior to your meeting with your counselor. Give careful consideration to your selections since some of these options may not be available to you if you do not

request them during the course selection period.
