About WesternMaritime Training
Located in Plymouth, United Kingdom, Western
Maritime Training originally started 25 years ago
working in liaison with the Seafish Industry. We were
known then as the Western Training Association and
delivered safety training for the commercial fishing
sector. We still do this, but our portfolio has
expanded to cover all commercial sectors. So
successful have we been we are now providing and
engaging business and individuals for commercial
maritime training throughout the UK and
Internationally.
Much of our resources have been focussed towards
providing training portfolios which match our
customer needs. We have invested in a new GMDSS
training suite and a Full mission Bridge simulator and
three smaller bridges enabling us to provide MCA
Approved training and certification for commercial
sector requirements.
We have built our reputation on delivering high
quality courses that surpass most expectations. Due
to our modus operandi we can offer the flexibility of
delivering courses where most providers would not.
We also offer bespoke courses to industry and
individual customers.
All our Instructors are Master Mariners, or technical
Specialists, and all hold professional training
qualifications. Where possible we use Instructors that
are currently employed at sea, ensuring their
competencies and experience can be passed on to
you.
Large merchant fleet companies, VTS and the Omani
Navy are just some of satisfied customers. Also self
funded students, many of whom come to upgrade
their skills to advance their careers.
We continue to work on our strategic aim to make
