How are the modules delivered• Each module is worth 20 credits
• For a one-term module there will be 6 ‘learning’ hours per week of which 1.5 or 2 will be student/tutor contact time.
• Some modules spread this over two terms instead.
In addition there could be:
• Instrumental lessons• Ensembles• Tutorials• Staff office hours

What kind of live music takes placeThere are a huge variety of opportunities for live performance:
• Various ensembles perform in the newly-refurbished Artaud Building throughout the year.
• There is a bi-monthly ‘Arts At Artaud’ showcase of work from students across the School.
• All School of Arts students can take part in the range of activities offered by the Arts Centre (Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Choir etc.) and their ‘Music Happens’ series.
• Performances also take place at local venues off campus e.g. Harrow Arts Centre

Strong links to the real world• All music staff are prolific performers, composers and writers, with
vibrant links to all the key professional bodies in London, the UK and abroad.
• Students have the opportunity to be involved with staff performances, recordings, and conferences, gaining valuable hands-on experience.
• Students in recent years have been involved with Music Orbit, Notes Ingales, the BEAM Festival, Sound and Music, our London series at Café Oto, the Klankleur Festival in Amsterdam, and all our artists-in-residence.
