Dear Members,

As we get into full “Fall” mode I hope each of you had a great summer. Even though the calendar says it is fall our weather seems to be stuck in “Summer” mode.

This juxtaposition of warm days and cool night is very agreeable for the golf course which results in summer like playing conditions and very healthy turf.

I hope all you golfers have had a chance to play the recently renovated 15th tee, it really came out beautifully. With the size of the tee now we can really change up the 15th hole from day to day.

As we approach the two year anniversary of Paul Barr becoming our superintendent I want to congratulate him on a job very well done. His approach of traditional methods mixed with new and innovative practices have brought the course to a new level of health and conditioning. Thank you Paul!

As long as we’re talking about Fall and the golf course we have to think of the Straight Down Fall Classic November 14 & 15 and the “Day After The Straight Down” Tournament on Monday, Nov. 16th.

Weather you are an avid golf fan or just an average one, the “SDFC” is a tournament really for the fans. With no gallery ropes you can get close enough to hear world class professionals discuss how to play each shot. We hope you’ll come out and enjoy a burger and a beer while watching tour pro’s take on the SLOCC greens at tournament speeds.

Before your holiday calendar is fully booked, make plans to join us for our annual Holiday Dinner Dance on Friday, Dec. 18th or New Year’s Eve where Chef Ed will pull out all the stops for a lavish New Year’s Eve buffet.

Lastly with the Clubs annual meeting complete the Board of Directors has been elected for 2016 and they are:

Michael Haupt Kevin Nichols Pat Rush

Eric Pinckert Melinda Hansen Nipool Patel Ron Mainini Magee Budd

Bruce Brandenburg

I look forward to working with you all in 2016!

See you at the Club,
