STEAMing Ahead in Houston County Houston County Libraries will soon have STEAM kits available for checkout.
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. This
program is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and
Library Services to Georgia Public Library Service under the provisions of the
Library Services and Technology Act.
According to the Houston County Board of
Education, Houston County students
outperformed the state in every subject

The Warner Robins Oral History Project An exclusive video collection many lifetimes in the making is now
available for checkout at all Houston County Libraries. Thanks to
efforts by the Warner Robins Heritage Society, the Warner Robins Oral
History Project brings together over 80 recordings from Warner Robins
citizens, with more to come as the project continues. The videos
capture the history of our city
through the eyes of those who
actually watched it happen.
Truly a priceless treasure!
The Warner Robins Oral
History Project is also
available for viewing at Nola
Brantley and Perry Libraries
in their local history rooms. The Warner Robins Oral History Project is
officially presented to Houston County Library
by the Warner Robins Heritage Society

Join us for Friday Night Book Club at
Nola Brantley, where patrons and staff
alike are invited to read and discuss
unique titles every month!
For November’s pick, we have Shotgun
Lovesongs by Nickolas Butler. This
bestselling novel tells the story of four
childhood friends returning to their
small Wisconsin hometown for a
friend’s wedding. What awaits are old
rivalries, forgotten heartaches, and
new discoveries on what it means to
grow up.
“Nickolas Butler ripped my heart out with rare honesty and good old-
fashioned unapologetic love. A book that makes you want to call old
friends. A writer who makes you feel more human than you thought
possible.”
— Matthew Quick, author of The Silver Linings Playbook
Book Club meets Friday, November 20 at Nola Brantley
Memorial Library at 6:30 PM
Pumpkin Decorating It’s how we roll
To get in the mood for the harvest
season, the kids at Perry and Nola
Brantley Libraries came out for some
awesome pumpkin-decorating at the
library. No carving or messy pumpkin
guts for us! We used paint, yarn,
stickers and all sorts of other things to
bring our pumpkins to life!
At Perry Library, the kids used
storybook characters for inspiration,
while at Nola Brantley, they came up
with wacky and wild designs!
Which one is your favorite?
