The story of this plan

‘Shaping our Future’ is the name given to our long and medium term strategy for the future of the City of Whittlesea. It is a program that describes the type of municipality our community can expect in the future. This plan lists the major initiatives that Council will undertake in the coming twelve months to help achieve our community’s aspirations.

The City of Whittlesea recognises the rich Aboriginal heritage of this country and acknowledges the Wurundjeri Willum Clan as the Traditional Owners of this place.

How we will measure our success

The completion of actions in the annual Council Action Plan by their due date is our major metric for success.

We will report our achievements against this plan in our 2017/2018 Annual Report.

How to read this plan

This plan supplements the ‘Shaping our Future’ Council Plan 2017-2021 which outlines Council’s priorities from 2017-2021. It outlines the major initiatives that will be undertaken in the 2017-18 financial year. The actions have been grouped by Council priorities and linked to the Future Directions of the Whittlesea 2030 Strategic Community Plan.

The major initiatives have been included in the Annual Budget for the 2017/18 period, and are considered to be the most appropriate for the Council to deliver in this financial year.
