Average Age for a Nobel Laureate in Physics
The ages in the graphs below refers to how old the Nobel Laureates were the year they were awarded the Nobel Prize. The average age when awarded is 55 for all the Physics Laureates between 1901 and 2013. The most frequent age bracket for Physics Laureates is 45-49. Only one Physics Laureate has been under 30 years, that is Lawrence Bragg, 25 years old when he was awarded the Nobel Prize with his father in 1915. Bragg is not only the youngest Physics Laureate, he is also the youngest Nobel Laureate in any Nobel Prize area.
