Property Location and Access

The property is located in the eastern quarter of Coulson township which is located in the Larder Lake Mining Division 25 kilometres north east of Matheson Ontario. Matheson is 70 kilometres due east of Timmins Ontario. The property is difficult to access due to its remote location. During the past two winters logging operations which included harvesting crown timber growing on the property provided winter access via a winter road a distance of72 kilometres return trip from the entrance offhighway 101 some 2 miles east of Matheson Ontario. The road led to the property however snowmobiles were required to access this large parcel of land. Summer access is either from the Shallow River Road as described above to a point 20 kilometres from hwy 101 to Coulson Creek where the road deteriorated and it became necessary to travel by A. T. V. some 16 kilometres on muddy tarrain. In summer access is also available via soft wet abandoned winter roadway northeast from the north side of Painkiller Lake in Beatty Township a distance otto kilometres to the center of the staked property.

Topography and Vegetation

The property is flat to rolling with a deep valley down to the Shallow River which runs north south through the property along the eastern flank. The banks of the valley in which the river is located are steep with rock cliffs along the edges at the rapids located in the south half of lot I-A concession 2 or mining claim 3000728. The area was partially clear cut approx. 7 years ago and then cut again approx 3 years ago and finally cut in 2004. Jackpine and Aspen are the primary types of timber growing on the claims with some white birch along the slope to the river.

Immediately west of the rapids as described above there is an area of bedrock which surfaces in the jackpine and clear cut. Some bedrock was located under overburden to the south of the standing pine as per the maps attached. It was this bedrock that we prospected and stripped. We also prospected along the east side of the river from the rapids to the southeastern comer of the township. Along the eastern boundary or the township there are large gabbro boulders protruding from the bank. The soil is mainly sand with some clays along the riverside. In the south end there is a creek with large beaver ponds along its length which travels southeast through the claims and empties into the Shallow. This creek is not named and is small and perhaps an intermittent stream.

Structural Geology

The rocks of the map area constitute a portion of an east-to southwest trending fold belt, characterized by upright to slightly overturned tight or isoclinal folds arranged in an en echelon pattern, Despite this tight folding, most of the rocks in the region lack evidence of penetrative deformation. Typically pillows are well preserved and provide abundant reliable stratigraphic top indicators. For the most part sub vertical axial plane cleavages are weakly developed in the hinge areas of the folds unless accentuated as is common for the areas anticlines by normal fault development.

A second set of northeast-oriented open folds predating the intrusion of the Matachewan Diabase dikes, is superimposed upon the wast west folds.

The belt of Porcupine Group sedimentary rocks in the centre of the area fonus the core of an east trending northerly inclined syncline; the axial trace of this structure is only vaguely defined. It appears that the fold persists throughout the map area and westward into Wilkie Township. The axial trace of the second major syncline the McCool Hill Syncline is situated in southwestern Coulson Township. The hinge area of the anticline separating these two synclines is not well botanised basalt and parallel trending gabbro dikes, sub vertical shears, and minor isoclinal folds. This sheared anticline may, in fact, represent the western extension of the North Branch Of the DestorPorcupine Fault zone in the area of the Ghost Range south of Lake Abitibi, and extends north westward for at least 20 km. Into the southern part of the project area. The Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone is a profound, long, active regional "break"; the North Branch splay was likely an early growth fault.

East trending shear zones are common in the central portions of the map area and many of the gabbro bodies undoubtedly intrude some fo these fissile zones. One identifiable fault zone is exposed at a point along the Shallow River bordering the northern edge of the sedimentary rocks. Slickenslides where identifiable in the solidified rocks found here, indicate a strike-slip motion of the fault.

Economic Geology

Gold: Gold occurs in both the native state and combined with pyrite in quartz and quartz-carbonate veins and stringers in the rocks of the Black RiverMatheson area. Auriferous quartz veins are not associated with a particular host rock, but are found in ultramafic, mafic, and felsic volcanic rocks, interflow sedimentary rock, Porcupine Group sedimentary rocks, and in various felsic intrusions. The most significant gold deposits, both in the western Black River-Matheson area and the Timmins area do, however, share three common characteristics: a) aromatisation of the country rock, b) association with felsic porphyritic intrusive and/or extrusive rocks, and c,) proximity to the Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone.

Destor Porcupine Fault Zone: The Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone is narrow and its location reasonably well defined in the Porcupine Camp, but in the BRIM region its precise location and width is unknown for most of its length; branch faults of uncertain length splay offit toward the west. Considering the long history of the activity of the Desotor-Porcupine Fault Zone, the area between the northern and southern branches of the structure likely contains several generations of sub parallel, normal faults. Research should be focused toward the prolerns of identifying and tracing those faults and related fracture systems that were active at the time of gold mineralization

Porphyry: At present, research is also being directed toward the dating of various felsic porphyritic intrusions which will help identify specific suites of felsic porphyritic rocks that host or accompany gold mineralization. The link between porphyritic intrusions and gold mineralization is not clear in all cases. Depending on the deposit, the relationship may be:

1, Direct, that is the particular felsic magma was either the source of the gold, or heat from the intrusion drove mineralizing fluids

2, Indirect, wherein the intrusions followed the emplacement of the auriferous veins, preferentially intruding open fractures that had served as conduits for the mineralizing fluids.

IN the latter case the particular series of dikes once defined, could identify by their presince a specific generation of faults and fractures which were

Page 9: Coulson / Warden Townships - Ontario

available to fluid at the time of mineralization, The presence of these intrusions should be considered to be an important exploration criterion.

Suggestions For Gold Exploration:

A waterfall on the Shallow River at the south eastern edge of the township, where diamond drilling by the Shallow River Gold Company in 1939 intersected feldspar porphyry dikes and auriferous quartz-carbonate veins close to the projected extension of the Destor-Porcupine fault Zones main branch. And a feldspar porphyry body which intrudes sedimentary rock in the northeastern quarter of the township.

Previous Work

1919: Knight reported that on the O,Neill-Potter claims along the shallow river near the southeast comer of Coulson Township low gold values occur within a pyritic and graphitic quartzite schist.

1939: Shallow River Gold Mines: Diamond drilling of37 holes with results to 18 grams per ton over 30 feet.

1946: McIntyre Porcupine Mines Limited completed a ground magnetometer survey over the extreme south eastern area of the township occupied by claim number 3008059.

1972: Noranda Mines completed a ground magnetometer and a ground electromagnetic survey over claims 3000728 and 3000729.

1983: Canamax Resources: Diamond drilling of 5 holes all assays whited out.

1988: Maude Lake Gold Mines Ltd. And Equinox Resources Ltd. Completed magnetic and electromagnetic surveys and diamond drilled 8 holes totalling 2,069 feet near the Shallow River Gold Mines Ltd. Drilling. This drilling yielded anomalously elevated gold concentrations.

Daily Log Prospecting

April 1,2003: Left Timmins early at 5 a.m. and met Garry Edwards in Matheson at 6 a.m. to take advantage of the cool conditions. The Shallow River Road was muddy but frozen and we were able to travel on snow along side of the winter road and in part on the road itself. We wanted to prospect the acid intrusive in the northwest comer of claim block 3010208 to see if we could find the sulphides mapped by Leahy and Ginn in the 60,s. This way we would know if we should continue staking to the north.

Using picks, sledges and a sounding rod, we worked separately and located the porphyry which was one of the main reasons we decided to stake this general area of Coulson Twp. The sulphides were wide ranging and well disseminated in an area of outcrop towards the north end of the claim group and in the north west comer of mining claim number 3010208. The sulphides were in an altered quartz porphyry contained chromium mica ( Fuchite) The sulphide content was approximately 5% fine grained pyrite. We inspected a large hill of sandy overburden and rocky outcrop. Outcrop exposure was approximately 10%. This outcrop began 100 meters south and 100 meters east of the number 4 post of claim number 3010208 and ran 300 meters to the east and was 150 meters wide from north to south. After spending several hours breaking rock and choosing samples and marking the source we also inspected another hill in cutover 200 meters directly east for outcrop and did not find any bedrock. Snow only covered approx. Y2 of the hill as in 2003 there was an early spring. Garry Windsor then proceeded to Timmins. Samples were sorted and two were selected for assay and delivered to the bus stand in Timmins and shipped to Swastika for assay. The samples were the ones containing the highest amount of fuchsite. Assay values were low: Sample No.1 @ 14 ppb Au. And sample No.2 @Au. 26 ppb. Au. Sample No.1 was taken at the top of the hill 100 meters south of post #No. 4 claim 3010208 and 166 meters due east. Sample #No. 2 was taken 120 meters south of post #No.4 claim 3010208 and 215 meters due east. To access the area we prospected, we took along a chain saw in case of road blockage, we each took a snow machine and our Y2 ton pickups. We each took a truck and machine in case of problems en route.

Daily Log Prospecting

June 3, 2003: Garry Windsor travelled to the property with Garry Edwards using a.t.v,s unloaded from our pickup trucks north of Painkiller Lake. We took a chainsaw along in case of trees across the road and made our way east to the claims along the almost impassable road way. This road is clay and flooded for the most of its length. The clay is very slippery and the water puddles are large and deep with no way to go around them in the mature aspen forest. This is the only way in during smnmer months while bridge is out crossing unnamed creek running into the Shallow River in claim 3010208. Once at the property we traversed the area immediately west of the rapids where the Shallow River Gold Mining Company drilled 37 holes in 1939. Research indicated outcrop exposure in this area which is located in mining claims 3000722 and 3000728. As we traversed looking for exposure we made notes in an attempt to establish the location of our line and the location of samples taken. We did not predetermine line location because we were not sure where we would find outcrop. The line is mapped as per estimated G .P.S. locations of samples taken. Several samples are in storage at Garry Windsors home. Samples taken included sample #No. 1, taken from the north cliff face at rapids. A pale green intermediate volcanic with a few oxidized gossan vein lets. The rock has minimal chlorite and weathers to a greyish brown. Pyrite is associated with the felsic veins and runs 3-5%. No signs of ankerite #No. 2 a highly chloritic mafic volcanic rock with 1-2% cubed pyrite in seams. #No. 3 is carbonitized pillow basalt with no sign of mineralization weathering a dark brown. #No. 4 Is a sheared mafic volcanic located at the south end ofa rusty basalt outcrop approx. 200 meters west of the Shallow River Rapids. Some barren quartz veining was observed in the shear. #No. 5 is a blocky green inte~iate volcanic weathering to a buff - brown and containing no visible mineralization, scratching with ankerite testing solution indicates possible ankerite alteration. #No.6 was located 200 meters to the west of sample No. 5 and was similar material and on strike.

We spent all day systematically criss crossing the area looking for outcrop and hoping to find some with significant sulphide for assay but nothing outstanding. Returned to Matheson and Timmins later that day.

Daily Log Physical Work,

Manual Overburden Stripping.

June 14,2003: Left Timmins at 6 a.m. and met Garry Edwards in Matheson at 7 a.m. for a fast breakfast to discuss plans and then headed out to try to get into our mining claims in Coulson in an attempt to find bedrock under a very small circular airborne mag signature to look for kimberlite as it appeared to be a suitable target and also to see if not kimberlitic what was causing mag pattern. The g.p.s. location of the small circular mag pattern was U.T.M. zone 17,552429 East, 5387817 North. This target is located in the southeast Y4 of claim 3000722.

Using two 'l'2 ton pickups we headed in to Painkiller Lake and proceeded north to the Fire Tower area and parked the trucks. From there we proceeded via a terrible excuse of a road into the center of the claim block via a.t.v. and brought along one chainsaw where a north south winter road allowed us to investigate the claim group further. Using a G.P.S. coordinate we proceeded just south of the roadway leading east to the area just north of the Shallow River Rapids. From there we walked towards the southwest and located the g.p.s. coordinate on the ground. We could not see any outcrop so we split up and scratched around with our pickaxes and :finally I noticed an area of overburden with no regeneration in this clear cut area. I prodded the area with a re-bar sounding rod and sure enough about 8 inches into the overburden I hit bedrock. I called Garry over and we spent a few hours removing windfall and brush and then using our picks and shovels we removed the overburden over an area of approx. 30 feet in length and 15 feet wide. The rock was very rusty and this encouraged us to get to it. We could not however break off any sizable sample because the rock was very flat and blocky however we did fill a sample bag with smaller chunks of this bedrock. The rock is a blocky green intermediate volcanic with some degree of ankerite alteration. It is weakly silicified and is oxidized along the joints and micro joints. The rock weathers a buff -brown. There is minimal jointing and the rock is generally massive except for the jointing. There is no mineralization evident. It appears the airborne bullseye may be at depth and covered with this non magnetic material. Because of no mineralization evident we did not assay. Photos attached.

Daily Log Prospecting

August 25, 2003: Garry Windsor and Garry Edwards travelled in to bridge crossing Collison Creek on the Shallow River Road in Coulson Township via pickup trucks then onto a.t.v,s and into property. The road changes from an all weather road from the highway to the bridge to a rough wet summer version of a winter road across on the other side of Coulson Creek. The two Garrys prospected the top of a ridge in the central east area of claim number 3010206 approx. 300 meters west of the porphyry mapped by Leahy and Ginn located in the northwest comer of claim 3010208 to see if the disseminated sulphides continue to the west. Outcrop was a dark green pillowed basalt with nil slliphides and no quartz veining. No samples assayed. The two men then walked to a small low hill across an unnamed creek in claim 3010208 southeast of porphyry 800 meters at g.p.s. coordinates u.t.m. zone 17, 551652 east and 5391699 north. (see map attached) The overburden on this hill was very deep and no bedrock was located. The prospectors then travelled south via a.t.v. and walked in to the cliff face at the Shallow River Rapids and Falls located in claim 3000728 (g.p.s. zone 17, 553304 east and 5388064 north) and collected a sample for assay. Rock sampled along cliff face across Shallow River along north side at rapids assayed as per assay sheet 3W-2705-RG1 attached. Low gold values only, less than one gram. Assay values were 765 ppb Au. Rock assayed was a pale green intermediate volcanic with a few oxidized veins and 3-5% disseminated cube brassy coloured pyrite. Took chain saw along in case of trees across road and used sounding roo'tilid pickaxes.
