BASKETBALL VICTORIES!

The Cape Rec Council fielded a team Boys U14 old team for the Holiday basketball tournament. The team played two games the first day and one game the second day. The Cougars team had victories over Davidsonville, South River, and Linthi-cum. All games were won by 15-20 point margin. Congraulations to the following teams who each won a county division champion-ship this winter. BU14 Jones Kentucky “B” division with a record of 7-2. BU14 Hamilton Miami “C” division with a record of 8-1. BU10 Fitzgerald VA Tech “D” division with a record of 8-1. GU10 Robertazzi Dribble “C” division with a record of 8-0. The spring season of basketball is off to a great start with the BU14 Jones team winning the HYSL Invitational tournament.

WRESTLING BEST IN ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY

The Cape wrestling team finished 9th our of 75 statewide teams at the recent MD/VA state championships, the top Anne Arundel County team finish. Four Cape wrestlers walked away with top ten finishes. Cameron Harrell took first place in the 90bs weight class, Zach Smith (95lbs) and Dan Hawkins (165lbs) both took second place in their weight class, and Stevie Smith finished 7th in the 75lbs weight class. These wrestlers also had quite a success at the Capital Area Wrestling Championship the weekend of March 6-7. 75lbs Stevie Smith 5th place 85lbs Connor Joyce 3rd place 90lbs Cameron Harrell 1st place 95lbs Zach Smith 3rd place 105lbs Dillon Edwards 7th place 165lbs Dan Hawkins 3rd place

FIRST COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP FOR CAPE FOOTBALL!

The Cape football program won its first county championship in football this fall. The 80lb team coached by Randy Weigman had a regular season record of 5-3. The team was seeded #5 in the play-offs. The team had to get past fourth seeded South River in the first round, then defeated top seeded Old Mill in the second round before securing the championship with a win over UQA.
