Justine’s Outfits

Justine’s outfits are very plain as you can see from the colors. I have done this purposely as I want her character

to be represented as a vulnerable girl who is pushed around. The constant use of black leggings connotes she

doesn't’t have much choice in clothing in comparison to Jessica’s. In addition, Justine only wears one red item,

and that is when she is about to kill Jessica. The use of the color Red connotes danger in my film, as Jessica

wears a lot of red. She also will wear a hoody when she kills Jessica, it connotes the stereotypical view that

people in hoodies are up to no good and commit illegal acts. An example of that would be in the TV series ‘The

Fall’; the trailer includes a man wearing a hoody, who is the antagonist who commits murder.

Jessica’s outfits

Jessica’s outfits require a range of colors. I have decided to plan for her to wear a lot of red, as it will connote

danger and that something will happen. The reason she needs to wear a variety of clothing is because she is the

more controlling and obsessive character who harms and psychologically abuses Justine, therefore she needs to

be represented to be in control and have more authority. An example of this would be from ‘Mean girls’; even

though the character Regina wears a lot of pink, she has the fashion sense that supports her controlling role, as

she is dressed to be more above everyone else. Jessica will wear black when she dies as it connotes death and

darkness. She will also wear pyjamas where as Justine doesn’t; this connotes further that Jessica has to be

dressed exceptional at all times and also connotes wealth as working class people don’t tend to spend much

money on expensive pyjamas. And Example of this would be in the opening of ‘four weddings and a funeral’. You

can clearly see the class difference between middle class and lower class.

Props

These are the props I feel that I will need. The ‘Burn book’ was inspired from the film

‘Mean girls’. Where they would stick pictures of people they hated and said horrible

things about them. This object was made by Jessica, connoting she is a hateful person.

The papers, books and pens will be used to show the two friends studying together

when they were close and happy friends. The iron will be used when Jessica burns

Justine.
