Costume Design Hair and Make up
• In every film made, the appearance of each character is a critical feature of the film and what the audience are most likely to base their judgement of a character on this.
• In our film, our genre is psychological horror. Our main character is a psychiatric patient, who is currently in isolation after murdering her own sister.
Here is a spider-scribe we created to plan out the look of our main character
• Our actor must look drained and weak, but also possessed to make her look suitable to the film, complying with the codes and conventions of the genre. Her clothes also need to match this, we will dress her in grey as we were unable to get hold of any overalls from the hospital. The colour grey will symbolise the bleak and desolate life she will now have to suffer for her actions.
• looking at the appearance and characteristics of the actors in other films playing a similar role, will help us to develop our own characters. In the uninvited, the main character is pale, wide eyed and wearing very little visible make up, making her look washed out
