A recent investigation of hospital and clinic records has revealed a previously undisclosed cause for many serious and even life threatening injuries. The Costambar Monthly can now reveal what tourism authorities have tried to hide from the public but something that is a serious risk to your health. This risk comes from something so innocuous that it is hard to believe. But health authorities are urging people to take this seriously. It is injuries arising from falling almonds, coconuts and palm leaves. While almonds by far do the least amount of damage they can potentially cause serious injury on windy days when they fall in batches battering the victim relentlessly, leaving random bruising and goose egg size lumps on the head. It only takes one coconut to cause serious head injury to the victim but health authorities hate to think of the possible implications of someone being struck by a falling batch. Falling palm leaves on the other hand have the potential to inflict full body damage and, along with coconuts, are considered life threatening. Concussions, bruising and neck injuries are all common results of these hazardous plants. Health authorities are urging citizens to take precautions. On windy days they advise wearing a helmet. They also recommend hiring a gardener to remove all possible hazards before they strike. Don’t be a victim of this plant peril in paradise! NEW HEALTH RISK DISCOVERED ON NORTH COAST

A guy stopped at a local gas station, and after fillinghis tank, he paid the bill and bought a soft drink. Hestood by his car to drink his cola and watched acouple of men working along the roadside. One man would dig a hole two or three feet deep andthen move on. The other man came along behind himand filled in the hole. While one was digging a newhole, the other was 25 feet behind filling in the hole. The men worked right past the guy with the softdrink and went on down the road."I can't stand this," said the man tossing the can into atrash container and headed down the road toward themen."Hold it, hold it," he said to the men. "Can you tell mewhat's going on here with all this digging andrefilling?" "Well, we work for the government and we're justdoing our job," one of the men said. "But one of you is digging a hole and the other fills itup. You're not accomplishing anything. Aren't youwasting the taxpayers' money?" "You don't understand, mister," one of the men said, leaning on his shovel and wiping his brow. "Normallythere's three of us: me, Elmer and Leroy. I dig the hole,Elmer sticks in the tree, and Leroy here puts the dirtback.Elmer's job's been cut ... so now it's just me an' Leroy

Last year I replaced all the windows in my housewith that expensive double-panel energy efficientkind, and today, I got a call from the contractorwho installed them. He was complaining that thework had been completed a whole year ago and Istill hadn't paid for them. Hellllloooooo justbecause I'm blonde doesn't mean that I amautomatically stupid..So, I told him just what his fast talking sales guyhad told me last year, that in ONE YEAR thesewindows would pay for themselves!Hellllooooooo? It's been a year! I told him. There was only silence at the other end of the line,so I finally just hung up. He never called back. I bethe felt like an idiot!!

It happened at a New York Airport. This ishilarious. I wish I had the guts of this girl. Anaward should go to the United Airlines gate agentin New York for being smart and funny, whilemaking her point, when confronted with apassenger who probably deserved to fly as cargo. For all of you out there who have had to deal withan irate customer, this one is for you.A crowded United Airlines flight was canceled. Asingle agent was re-booking a long line ofinconvenienced travelers.Suddenly, an angry passenger pushed his way tothe desk. He slapped his ticket on the counter andsaid, "I HAVE to be on this flight and it has to beFIRST CLASS."The agent replied, "I'm sorry, sir. I'll be happy to tryto help you, but I've got to help these folks first;and then I'm sure we'll be able to work somethingout."The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly,so that the passengers behind him could hear, "DOYOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?"Without hesitating, the agent smiled and grabbedher public address microphone. "May I have yourattention, please?", she began, her voice heardclearly throughout the terminal. "We have apassenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOWWHO HE IS. If anyone can help him with hisidentity, please come to Gate 14".With the folks behind him in line laughinghysterically, the man glared at the United Airlinesagent, gritted his teeth, and said, "F*** You!"Without flinching, she smiled and said, "I'm sorrysir, you'll have to get in line for that, too."

I had an appointment with my doctor. He asked mewhat I did yesterday.I told him about my day:"Well, yesterday afternoon, I waded across theedge of a lake, escaped from an angry 14 pointbuck in the heavy brush, marched up and down asteep hill, stood in a patch of poison ivy, crawledout of quicksand, jumped away from an aggressiverattlesnake, then outran an alligator!"Inspired by my story, the doctor said, "You mustbe an awesome outdoorsman!""No," I replied, "I'm just a shitty golfer."

A male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an oxygen mask over his mouth andnose. A young student nurse appears and giveshim a partial sponge bath."Nurse,"' he mumbles from behind the mask, "aremy testicles black?"Embarrassed, the young nurse replies, "I don'tknow, Sir. I'm only here to wash your upperbody and feet." He struggles to ask again, "Nurse, please checkfor me. Are my testicles black?"Concerned that he might elevate his bloodpressure and heart rate from worrying about histesticles, she overcomes her embarrassment andpulls back the covers. She raises his gown, holds his manhood in onehand and his testicles gently in the other. She looks very closely and says, "There'snothing wrong with them, Sir. They look fine."The man slowly pulls off his oxygen mask, smiles at her, and says very slowly, "Thank youvery much. That was wonderful. Now listen very, very closely...Are - my - test - results - back?"

SOUND RENTAL

LOOKING AT OTHERS YOUR OWN AGEHave you ever been guilty of looking at othersyour own age and thinking, surely I can't look thatold?Well.....you'll love this one!My name is Alice Smith and I was sitting in thewaiting room for my first appointment with a newdentist.I noticed his dental diploma, which bore his fullname. Suddenly, I remembered a tall, handsome, dark haired boy with the same name had been inmy secondary school class some 30-odd yearsago.Could he be the same guy that I had a secret crushon, way back then?Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded anysuch thought. This balding, grey haired man withthe deeply lined face was far too old to have beenmy classmate. After he examined my teeth, I asked him if he hadattended Morgan Park secondary school ."Yes, yes I did. I'm a Morganner! " he beamed withpride.'When did you leave to go to college?' I askedHe answered, "In 1965. Why do you ask?"'You were in my class!' Biology ExamStudents in an advanced Biology class were takingtheir mid-term exam. The last question was, 'Name seven advantages ofMother' Milk.?The question was worth 70 points or none at all.One student, in particular, was hard put to think ofseven advantages. However, he wrote:1) It is the perfect formula for the child.2) It provides immunity against several diseases.3) It is always the right temperature.4) It is inexpensive.5) It bonds the child to mother, and vice versa.6) It is always available as needed. And then the student was stuck. Finally, in desperation, just before the bell rangindicating the end of the test, he wrote:7) It comes in two attractive containers and it'shigh enough off the ground where the cat can't getit. He got an A.
