The City of Surprise is seeking bids to remove flood debris from

ten sites and the repair of flood damage at two other sites. The

bids will be submitted as a lump sums for each site as described in

the individual scopes of work.

Task 1: Cactus and Citrus

SCOPE: The Contractor is to furnish all labor, required material, equipment,

and/or tools required to remove any and all debris, silt, and/or other flow

impediments built up at the culvert upstream inlets, downstream outlets, and

inside the culvert barrel(s). The cleaning shall be performed in a manner that will

not damage the existing culvert, aprons, and/or channel. The contractor shall

remove all debris at the culvert ends, headwalls, and wing walls. The box culvert

consists of 4each 10’X4’ barrels 80’ long. Barrels 1, 2, 3, and 4 contain

approximately 60 cubic yards each. The total is approximately 240 cubic yards

of debris material.

walls. The box culvert consists of 4 each 10’X4’ barrels, 80’ long. Barrels 1,

2, 3, and 4 contain approximately 112 cubic yards each. The total is

approximately 448 cubic yards of debris material.

SCOPE: The Contractor is to furnish all labor, required material, equipment,

and/or tools required to remove any and all debris, silt, and/or other flow

impediments built up at the culvert upstream inlets, downstream outlets, and

inside the culvert barrel(s). The cleaning shall be performed in a manner that

will not damage the existing culvert, aprons, and/or channel. The contractor

shall remove all debris at the culvert ends, headwalls, and wing walls. The box

culvert consists of 2 each 10’X4’ barrels 140’ long. Barrels 1 and 2 contain

approximately 208 cubic yards.

impediments built up at the culvert upstream inlets, downstream outlets, and

inside the culvert barrel(s). The cleaning shall be performed in a manner

that will not damage the existing culvert, aprons, and/or channel. The

contractor shall remove all debris at the culvert ends, headwalls, and wing

walls. The box culvert consists of 5 each 8’X3’ barrels 154’ long. Barrels 1

and 2 contain approx. 80 cubic yards each of debris and barrel 3 contains

approximately 23 cubic yards of debris. The total is approximately 183 cubic

yards of debris material.

and 3 contain approximately 18.5 cubic yards each. The total is

approximately 55.5 cubic yards of debris material.

SCOPE: The Contractor is to furnish all labor, required material, equipment,

and/or tools to remove any and all debris including sand, silt, and/or other

flow impediments built up at the bridge upstream inlets, downstream outlets,

and under the bridge. The removal shall be performed in a manner that will

not damage the existing embankments, aprons, and/or channel. The

contractor shall remove all debris at the bridge ends, headwalls and wing

walls. The Contractor shall be responsible to repair/replace any damage

caused by the debris removal process.

Task 11: Cactus and Citrus (slope/berm restoration)

SCOPE: The Contractor is to furnish all labor, required material, equipment,

and/or The Contractor is to furnish all labor, required material, equipment,

and/or tools to repair the storm damage on both sides of Citrus. All erosion

on adjacent embankments to the box culvert shall be repaired and re-

compacted. The earthen berm located west of the structure must be re-built

using compacted material and compacted to 95%. Existing broken or failing

concrete and asphalt roadway near the culvert will be removed and

replaced with new per MAG specifications and details. Approximately 20’ of

curbing has been displaced on the west side of the roadway. The concrete

vault will be re-leveled and re-supported. The irrigation and granite will be

repaired or replaced.

and/or tools required to complete the project. All erosion on adjacent
