Some states of India are reeling under terrible drought and water scarcity.

Latur town in Marathwada region of Maharashtra is the epicenter of acute water scarcity and is receiving

water once a month and the state government last month imposed Section 144 of the CrPC—that bars gatherings of

more than 5 persons—on the town as a precautionary measure to prevent water riots. Now it is extended to the adjoining district

headquarters of Parbhani too. These prohibitory orders were imposed near water supply spots. “We are getting water supply once in 20 days and taking a bath even once a week is a luxury,” said Manik Kadam, a resident of Parbhani town. Hospitals and clinics in Latur have cut down surgical procedures due to water crisesData from the ministry of water resources show that in end March, water levels in 91 major reservoirs in the country was at just 25% of capacity—30% lower than last year, and 25% less than the average storage in a decade. To add the misery of the people the Indian Meteorological Department has issued the highest heat alert for parts of Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand and a heat wave warning for Telangana and the eastern districts of Maharashtra. The Andhra Pradesh government reports 45 deaths due to the heat and Telangana reports 66 and the total fatalities have crossed 200. There are many farmers committing suicide due to debt and crop failure. Let us pray that our fellow citizens’ miseries may be removed by the Lord Jesus Christ.De 11:13,14 'And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, 'then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil. Dear Friends

I do praise God for your dedicated and continued support for the ministry.

Like Paul we need to learn to be self effacing in ministry so that God alone may be glorified. It is easy to call ourselves servants of God but it takes great maturity and humility to call ourselves servants of those we serve. In 2 Corinthians 4: 5 Paul says, “for we do not preach ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” Paul further goes on to say in verse 7, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all surpassing power is from God and not from us.”

It is this attitude that will keep us going in any adverse situation. The field is the Lord’s and the harvest is His too. (Matt. 9: 38) We are just servant partners in God’s mission. “So you also when you have

done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants, we have only done our duty.’” (Luke 17:10) This should lead us to total dependence on God rather than on our abilities, strategies and monetary resources that are definitely needed but not foundational for our ministry. Dependence on God through prayer is foundational.

Our current batch of 79 missionary trainees have graduated after a year of rigorous training and are on their way to various mission

fields. Pray for them to be effective servants of God and for their cultural adjustments and efforts to learn the language of the people they serve.

Interviews are being conducted for youngsters committed to join the harvest force. Pray that many would come forward to be selected.

Nearly a thousand youngsters gathered at Nandanam in Chennai on April 14th for a day of fasting and prayer.

We look forward to your overwhelming participation in the Annual Tamil Nadu State Conference from the 19th to the 22nd of May at Bethel, Danishpet near Salem. Navodhya camp will also be held at Bangalore during those days.

We have stepped into a new financial year. Pray for the ministry in the year ahead to be fruitful. Even as we work for the transformation of people and societies, may we yield ourselves to the transforming work of God in our lives.

As most areas of our country are experiencing peak summer conditions we need to pray for drought hit areas where farmers’ lives have been severely impacted.

Your servant for Christ’s sake

Mrs. Shanti Ramyaraju

Robbie, a cute parrot was our pet when our children were very young.

We used to feed him fruits, vegetables, sambar rice, curd rice and many other things. Of all the food items, Robbie relished curd rice the most! In spite of our love and care, Robbie went hungry many times because we were unable to feed him on time. It was difficult for us to take care of one bird, but imagine how many birds are there in our city, state, country, and throughout the world! Statistics suggest that there are approximately 10,000 species of birds in the world! Each kind has its own choice of food! Birds don’t know how to sow, reap or store in barns. How are they fed then? Jesus said in Matt 6:25-34 that our heavenly Father feeds them. The Bible says in Matt 10:29 that two sparrows are sold for a penny. In Luke 12:6 it says that five sparrows are sold for two pennies. What does that mean?

Friends Focus6 May 2016

Buy two pairs and take one home for free! Even that bird which is given away for free does not fall to the ground if it is not the will of our Father in Heaven. Jesus asks, how much more valuable are you than the sparrows? What does Jesus mean by this? Sparrows, and all the other creatures for that matter, are living beings but they don’t have God’s spirit in them. With death they cease to exist. But we humans are very precious to God in the sense that we are formed in His own image, and we have God’s spirit in us, which makes us eternal. Death is not the end of our lives. Here

Jesus says God cares for us more than He cares for the other creatures! In the Old Testament God’s people recognized God as their supreme authority, King, Protector, Lord and God. They felt God was unapproachable and distant. David went one step further in his relationship with God and acknowledged God as his Shepherd. David himself was a shepherd and took good care of his sheep even to the point of risking his own life! He enjoyed God’s providence and care and he wrote Psalm 23, which says “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want … Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.” Later even after becoming king over Israel, David could find peace and tranquillity in the midst of all the troubled situations because he knew that he was shepherded by God. The following verses elucidate this. Psalms 27:3 Though an army besiege

Page 7: Corrie Ten Boomfmpb.co.in/Admin/magazine/13_MayFriendsfocus.pdf · 2016. 5. 14. · – Corrie Ten Boom. 2 Friends Focus May 2016 Some states of India are reeling under terrible drought

me, my heart will not fear, though war break out against me, even then will I be confident. Psalms 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. In the New Testament, Jesus introduced God to us as our father, this notion was totally unexpected for a Jew. Jesus taught His disciples to call God, ‘father’. And after His death and resurrection, He poured out the Holy Spirit who enabled the believers to call God, ‘Abba father!’ Rom 8:15 Abba is an Aramaic word whose English parallel is 'Daddy'. Some equivalents of ‘Abba’ in Indian vernaculars are 'Papa', 'Appa', 'Nana' etc. A baby will not bother about the next day’s menu or what it would wear. It sleeps without any care. However, its father and mother would take care of all that. The following verses show God’s fatherly care for his people.Isaiah 49:15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands” Matt 7:11 “which of you if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? … If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”Of course, laying all our care upon God does not exempt us from working for our livelihood or for preparing for exams.

Somebody suggested that the right way to balance prayer and work is to ‘pray as if everything depended on God and to Work as if everything depended on you’. I accepted the Lord as my personal saviour when I was studying B.Sc II year. I was an E.U student and was much strengthened spiritually through it. I decided to do God’s will in my life. After completing M.Sc, when I was planning to apply for M.Phil, the Lord spoke to me through Numbers 1:47-54 that I should do His service. I obeyed His call and committed myself to His service. Later I got married to a believer Mr. Ramyaraju. After 8 years of our marriage and when our kids were 6 & 4 years of age, my husband fell sick, during his sickness, God spoke to him that he should serve him full time. He was working as a scientific officer in a Govt. concern. While we were mulling over resigning his job, one uncle counselled us and asked us to think about our children's future, about how we'd feed them and clear their bills. We were much confused and worried a lot that night. The next morning God spoke to us through our regular Bible portion, Matt 6:25-34 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; ... what you wear…Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? ...your heavenly father knows that you need them. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you”.

It’s been more than 2 decades since my husband resigned his job and God our heavenly father has been faithful all through these years. As soon as we stepped into the ministry, our income was very little of what we were getting before! But the Lord has been faithful to us all these years, keeping us from suffering with hunger or having to borrow from anyone. God enabled our children to complete their post graduation. God proved Himself to be the heavenly Father in our lives. If we know and believe that we have a Father in heaven who watches over us and takes care of us, why do we worry over petty issues? why do we panic and bear the burden unnecessarily?A story is told about an old lady who once was carrying a big bundle of firewood on her head. A man riding on a bullock cart noticed her, had compassion and offered her a ride on the cart. After a while, when he turned back to see how she was doing, to his astonishment, he saw that the old lady was still carrying the bundle on her head! How often we find ourselves doing the same! Sometimes in prayer we leave our worries at His feet and after the prayer we pick them again and carry them along with us. What a pity!

Common things which cause us to worry:

● Daily needs● Physical appearance ● Sickness● Works that need to get done● Exams ● Career● Future ● Pending decisions

● Financial security● Land disputes ● Property● Clearing loans● Children’s studies, conduct Job, Marriages etcIn addition, we also worry even in abundance, like the rich man in Luke 12:16 who worried about storing the grains. 500 years ago Michel de Montaigne said, “My life has been filled with terrible misfortune; most of which never happened”. There was a study that 85% of what people worried about, never happened and in the 15% that did happen, 79% of the subjects discovered either they could handle the difficulty better than expected or the difficulty taught them a lesson worth learning. This means that 97% of what you worry over is not much more than a fearful mind punishing you with exaggerations and misperceptions.Unknown and unrealistic fears also can drive God’s children to worry and to lose their peace! I was once gripped with such a baseless fear 25 years ago. I was led to worry that I would die and my husband would have to marry again. Though I was a believer at that time, I had fallen prey to such unrealistic fear. But by God’s grace, I was delivered from that panic very soon when I heard God’s Word shared by a sister in a women’s meeting.

Beware of Worrying! The word anxious Luke 12:22 means “to be torn apart”, “to be held in suspense”.

Page 9: Corrie Ten Boomfmpb.co.in/Admin/magazine/13_MayFriendsfocus.pdf · 2016. 5. 14. · – Corrie Ten Boom. 2 Friends Focus May 2016 Some states of India are reeling under terrible drought

It is the picture of a ship being tossed in a storm. The English word “worry” comes from old Anglo-Saxon word which means “to strangle”. Warren Wiersbe in his commentary says

1. Worry is Deformative! It keeps us from growing in the Lord and makes us like the unsaved. Luke 12:30”for the pagan world runs after all such things”. In short worry is unchristian. Worry deforms us and cripples us by robbing our faith in God. How can we witness to a lost world and encourage them to put faith in Jesus Christ if we ourselves are worrying and doubting God?

2. Worry is Deceptive!• Worry convinces us that life is made up of what we eat and what we wear. We get so concerned about these things that we actually miss the most important things in life.• Worry gives a false view of life, of God and of itself and that God cannot handle or solve our problems and that we are the best ones to solve our own problems.• Worry blinds us to the way God cares for His creation. God makes flowers beautiful, feeds the birds. How much more He cares for His children• Worry blinds us to itself. We come to believe that worry accomplishes good things. It gives us an impression that we’ll be benefited by worrying. Jesus said in Luke 12:25 “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”

3. Worry is Destructive!Instead of adding to our lives, worries take away the strength from our lives. “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow but it empties today of its strength” – Corrie ten boom. According to Wikipedia, the physical effects of anxiety may include heart palpitations, muscle weakness, fatigue, nausea, chest pain, shortness of breath, stomach aches, headaches, hypertension, increased perspiration and other psycho somatic disorders. Warren Wiersbe comments that worry will lead people to hospital and to grave. It is not God’s will that we should worry; instead He wants us to enjoy the peace and joy He kept in store for us, His children. Isaiah 26:3 records “you will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you”. In Matt 11:28, 29 Jesus gives an open invitation. “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light”.Peter wrote in his first epistle 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you” Peter was not simply telling this as theory but it was proved in his life. When King Herod killed James, the brother of John and he saw that this pleased the Jews. And he imprisoned Peter, with the intention of killing him. Imagine his plight while awaiting execution. But to our surprise,

Page 10: Corrie Ten Boomfmpb.co.in/Admin/magazine/13_MayFriendsfocus.pdf · 2016. 5. 14. · – Corrie Ten Boom. 2 Friends Focus May 2016 Some states of India are reeling under terrible drought

Peter was in such a deep sleep that the angel had to strike him to wake him up.Paul says in Phil 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again. Rejoice! The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”. Paul was not eating Chicken at KFC or sipping ice tea at McDonalds while he wrote this, he was in the Roman Prison suffering for the sake of the gospel.Job was praising God when he lost everything. God wants us to be peaceful and thankful in all circumstances. Not only when everything goes on well with us but also the other way round. The peace that Jesus offers is not because of the circumstances but in spite of the circumstances. This is the peace and joy God gives to his children. Happiness comes from happenings and it soon fades away when the circumstances change. But lasting Joy comes from the Lord!Psalms 4:7 you have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound

How to overcome worry?• Accept Jesus as your personal saviour. By doing this you will become God’s child in the truest sense. Otherwise you cannot enjoy the privileges of being God’s child. John 1:12• Trust God that He knows your needs

and that He would take care of them Matt 6:8• Pray with thanksgiving and let your requests be made known unto God. Phil 4:6• Some practical tips to keep ourselves from worrying I. Sharing your worries to your dear ones II. Seeking godly counselIII. Long range planningIV. Hang loose on the possessionsJoseph M Scriven (1855) loved a girl and got engaged to her but the day before their wedding the girl drowned and died. Later he was engaged to another girl and she too died of illness the day before the wedding was to take place. Later he received the news that his mother became sick in Ireland. In this heart rending situation, Joseph composed a hymn in Canada to comfort his sick mother, who was across the sea in Ireland. The hymn brought comfort and solace to many who were distressed and troubled down through the centuries. It is nothing but the famous hymn…

“What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear

What a privilege to carry everything to God in Prayer

Oh what peace we often forfeit, Oh what needless pain we bear

All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer”

The 'Teens Camp' was hosted and organized by FMPB Delhi from 15th April 8:30 am to 16th April 6:30 pm in Mount Carmel School, Dwarka, Delhi. The theme of the camp was "Give your best to the Master”. By God's Grace, around 200 teenagers from every part of Delhi attended the camp. The FMPB Chennai 'Teens Wing' was called to lead the Camp. The sessions held by Rev. Charles Mony were really thought provoking which grabbed everyone's attention. There were also physically engaging outdoor games called the 'Mini Olympics' which everyone loved. The morning worship was led by the FMPB Delhi worship team 'Crusaders' on both days and the messages were translated to Hindi by Ms. Mersiah. We believe that the teens who attended the camp were touched by our Lord Jesus thro messages which were designed specifically for them. We believe that the teens leaving the Camp would give their best to the Master, live a life worth in the sight of the Lord. In this camp first time 18 teens accepted Christ as their personal Saviour, 49 teens renewed their commitment, 19 prayer cells were formed, 47 teens committed for full time ministry and 55 teens received Medical Relief Fund cards. - Mr. Anbalagan and FMPB Delhi.

Friends Focus 43May 2016

Dear friends,

FMPB is what it is today because we focus on prayer to bring transformation in the nation; we focus on fasting to bring transformation in the lives of individuals. I am aware that thousands of people have been praying for the FMPB ministry across the nation and around the world.

If we are going to help turn our nation to God, we must fall on our knees and our faces before God and pray. Prayer enacts God’s hand in history like nothing else because prayer is a relational communication with God. I would encourage each of you to be ‘prayer warriors’ so that we can experience God affecting every aspect of our lives — economics, education, politics, career, family, social relationships, spiritual life etc.

FMPB requires a large number of missionariers to go into the mission fields, to preach God’s love and compassion. Our strategy for this is prayer and earnest prayer. Jesus told his disciples “The harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest” (Luke 10.2). As a reminder of this Bible verse, I have set the alarm at 10.02 hours everyday to pray for the nation and to pray for the mission. Billy Graham said, “To get our nation on its feet, we must get on our knees.”. When we pray, God does wonders and makes the ‘impossible’ as ‘possible’. It's time we involved in this mission with holiness and unity; It's time we knelt, humbled ourselves and prayed for our nation.

Effecting from 1 May 2016, Rev Sudarshan Thomas will formally take charge as FMPB General Secretary, after Rev Simon Ponniah completes 60 years. Rev Sudarshan Thomas is a person of humility and integrity, called to be a 'servant leader' and to provide spiritual leadership to the FMPB movement. He and his

wife Lydia Thomas invested their lives in Bible translation and teaching, living among the poor and downtrodden. We thank God for His wonderful grace in guiding us to choose the person of His choice as GS. We also thank God for Rev Simon Ponniah, the outgoing GS for his involvement in the ministry for the past 37 years.

We are aware that it’s a new beginning for the FMPB movement to focus on reaching 1.25 billion people with God’s word and God’s values. It's time to 'rise and build' this God-inspired movement to touch the nation with prayer and humbleness, commitment and sacrifice. FMPB is not about power, position or prestige; rather, FMPB is all about Prayer and Mission, Fellowship and Friendship.

“The Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give…..” (Mark 10:45). The secular world leaders may throw their weight about, manipulate and exploit others. “Not so with you” (Mark 10.43) said Jesus emphatically. God’s community is to be organized on a different principle and according to a different model- humble service, not oppressive power; sacrificial living, not selfish ambition; compassion for others, not comfort and complacency. FMPB will continue to focus on simple and sacrificial lifestyle. The standard of the cross set by Jesus will become our standard.

During March, I, along with the Treasurer and Bro Patrick Joshua went to Jharkhand to be with the Santal people as we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the FMPB ministry among the Santal Tribes. It's a remarkable event as nearly 20,000 believers gathered together for fellowship and commitment. It's a wonderful model of church development and we thank God for this. God has been doing wonderful things amidst the Santal tribes, calling them to be His children and today, we see the entire community being transformed. In the last 25 years, nearly 92,000 Santals have come to the Lord and more than 750 churches have been established. They require more missionaries, more church buildings, more children homes, more education projects in terms of schools and colleges.

In Jharkhand, we have also been working with Malto Tribes for the past many years. A few years back, more than 450 churches developed through FMPB ministry were integrated with ECI. It's a matter of joy that Rev Patros Malto, one of our believers from the FMPB ministry has become the Bishop of the ECI Rajmahal Diocese. In fact, while in Chennai, on 2 March 2016, we had a formal meeting with the Most Rev Bishop Ezra Sargunam at his office and discussed

the steps to be taken for the development of the ministry among Malto Tribes. Later, in Jharkhand, further discussions were held with ECI church leaders. Based on our discussion with ECI, we have decided that we will be involved in the Church revival and renewal, through our missionaries. There is a major need to work among them in terms of leadership development, youth ministry, children ministry, women's ministry, evangelism to the unreached people etc. We need missionaries to work among the youth, the children, and families; we need teachers, doctors, nurses, community development specialists. As and when God leads you, please come forward.

I visited the FMPB Community College and the FMPB School at Pandeni. Both are being developed as very good institutions empowering the Santal and Malto community. Let's pray that the Lord will raise many people who will support more children from Malto and Santal Tribes, in terms of their spiritual nourishment and educational development. The more they are educated, the more they will be able to read the Bible. The more they read the Bible, the more they will understand God’s Kingdom values. When God has called FMPB to work among the Santal and Malto Tribes, let's be involved in this task with dedication and commitment.

Our missionaries in Jharkhand have been involved in doing a noble work, in tough terrain, in difficult conditions. I spent time with our missionaries and it's a joy to see them involved in missions with enthusiasm. They need our prayers and our support.

After many years of hardship and danger in the heart of Africa, David Livingstone received an honorary doctorate from the University of Glasgow. On that occasion, he said, “Would you like me to tell you what supported me through all the years of exile among people whose language I could not understand, and whose attitude toward me was always uncertain and often hostile? It was this: ‘Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.’ On those words I staked everything, and they never failed.”

Brothers and sisters, many of our missionaries have gone through enormous sufferings and even death, working among the tribals and the downtrodden in tough terrains. God’s abiding presence and power is the greatest assurance that’s available to each one us, as we get involved in His mission.

God bless you and God bless the FMPB movement !

My father name is Chhatar Sai Tirkey. My mother name is Julia Tirkey. I was born and brought up in a nominal Christian family. My father was drinking alcohol when I started to go to school. Meanwhile my father got sick seriously .So we took him to hospital for treatment. We spent lot of money for his treatment but couldn’t heal his sickness. When I was studying in class 2, my parents sent me to the

FMPB Ludeg Boys Hostel. One day I shared about my father’s sickness to FMPB Missionary Rev. Karunakaran

for prayer. Every day we prayed for my father’s healing. Then slowly my father got healed through prayer. When I was in class 5 my parents told me that I should become a doctor. That time onward it was in my mind that I should become a doctor. During my class 10th board exam I got sick seriously after writing two subjects. I became so sad by thinking that if I couldn’t finish my exam what should I do after studying for a whole year. So I went home for treatment. At that time my sickness increased. So my father called a doctor for a treatment but I couldn’t recover. For second time a doctor was called. I was given 6 bottles of IV fluids but still I couldn’t be healed. Next day I had to write science subject but my condition didn’t change. So my family also became worried and my father told me, “My son you cannot write exam tomorrow” On that day a Pastor came to my village. I told my parents to call him to pray for me so that I could be healed. But my father answered, “We have treated you with that much medicine but you didn’t get healing how can you be healed by prayer”. But I replied to my father that he believed the doctor but I had faith on living God. So my father called the pastor and he prayed for me. Immediately I got healed. After my healing I prayed to God that I should not become a doctor who could not heal people but I would serve God who healed me from my sickness. So from that day onward I kept on praying that I would do God’s work after my studies. I wrote my exam with much weakness and fear. But by God’s grace I got passed with 53%. God has helped me to complete my 12th class. My only wish is to do the work for God. Please pray for me so that I can serve for the extension of God’s kingdom on earth.

Can one man change the fate of a city forever? Can one Man change the fate of this world forever? Yes it is possible! Our Lord changed the world forever. Benjamin Bailey, His follower changed the fate of Kottayam forever. Yes it is possible! We can believe it. Born in England, 1791, Bailey finished education and spent two years under Rev. Scott for missionary training. He then spent a brief time working as a Deacon and a Priest, and upon marrying Elizabeth Ella on May 4, 1816, he moved to Kottayam, Kerala, India. In the beginning of 19th century when Bailey came to Kottayam, it was a very small village comprising of only about 300 inhabitants. The first assignment given to Benjamin Bailey on his arrival in Kottayam was to superintend (Principal) the ‘Kottayam College’ which was established and run by the Church Missionary Society (CMS). While he was on furlough, he also supervised the making of two beautiful fonts of Malayalam types in England. He and his eldest son printed the Malayalam Gospels there with those types and brought them back to Kottayam. The ‘Bailey Bible’ helped in formulating the modern Malayalam language just as the King

James Version helped in the development of the English language. During 1839-42, he built the beautiful Anglican Church in Kottayam-the Christ church- which Bishop Wilson called as “the glory of Travancore”. Bailey is the founder of English education in Kerala. Kottayam is the first town in India which acquired cent percent literacy. The town is really indebted to Benjamin Bailey for its development. Within a few decades Kottayam developed into a large town and it became the cultural as well as the print media capital of Kerala. The town started to grow around

this nucleus of the College, Printing Office and the Holy Trinity church established by him. Today a life-size bronze statue of B. Bailey has been installed at the Municipal Park at Nagampadam. It stands as a testimony of what God can do to change a town with one man who is totally committed to Him.

Indian adolescent population constitutes to 20% of the world’s adolescent

population. 49 % of Indian population is below 19 yrs. of age. This huge population needs our prayer and support to build a moral and righteous India. “We are not very different from American kids, except they are more independent” said Tembo, a 13 year old teen from Delhi. Trouble and emotions are certain truths about him: he is a teenager. Teens in India live in one of the fastest growing countries in the world. India is filled with signs of a strong economy, including technology, industrial growth, and an explosion of knowledge and awareness. This uncovers to him a world of challenges and excitement. In a unique diverse nation, with multiple mini societies, teenagers of different Indian states brought up in dissimilar communal backgrounds, face various problems. A total of 1903 juveniles have been convicted for committing murders, 1884 for rape, 1230 for kidnapping and abduction and 1470 for burglary and theft by the CBI in 2013. Terrorist organizations are hiring and training teenagers from poor

villages of Chattisgarh, Odisha,Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal for their terrorist attacks.FMPB ministry among TeensFace book, Whatsapp, Google, Twitter and other websites, and the so called hi-tech world we live in, bombard the teens every day with too much of unnecessary information and misinformation. The most beautiful period of life turns quickly into a dangerous nightmare when there is no right guidance. Teen age is the most beautiful period of life. It is a period of transition from childhood to a young adult. This stage of life is branded by increased growth in their physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual aspects. Christian teens need to be mentored, encouraged and guided in the right way. Today’s teens are tomorrow’s leaders and responsible citizens of our country. Building up a godly gen- next is the central focus of the Teens wing of FMPB. This department took to its wings in the year 1995 by Mrs. Rosalind Rex with a combo of Mr. Avinash and Mr. Jennis.

In the year 2005 Mrs. Rosalind Rex had to leave for her higher studies, in this period, Mr. Avinash took in charge of the southern part of Tamil Nadu for a year and Mr. Jacob Jebaraj and Mrs. Sylvia Jacob continued the ministry till 2013, At present Mr. Selwyn and his wife Mercy have taken up this ministry. Now they, along with 60 volunteers are going around meeting teens throughout India. The three fold aim of FMPB - Teens Wing is to lead the teens to Christ, help them to live a victorious life and encourage them towards missions.Praise God God has enabled us to meet the several needy teens by conducting many one day meetings, camps and school retreats for them. We reach them through scintillating music & actions, skit, testimonies, practical talks, group discussions, games, activities, debates, videos, short films, Mission Exhibition etc… God has blessed our team with special skills and gifts. 90% of the songs and music have been composed by our team. Beautiful choreography and actions are then created, practiced and performed for God’s glory which captivate every audience. Concepts, dialogue and videos for skits and short movies are exclusively produced keeping the teen audience in mind.Pray 1. Pray for us to reach 5 lakhs teens before the year 2020.And also to train 300 new teen leaders all over India. To

conduct 40 special events this year and reach 25,000 teenagers, to encourage 500 teens to commit for full time work after their studies, To form and nourish 300 teen prayer cells and to motivate teenagers to support missions through Medical Relief Fund Project Card.2. Pray for the prayer cells, leaders and the cells to function regularly without any disruption at school during break time, churches and homes as they pray for FMPB and India.3. Pray for the follow up ministry. We are following the teens who have committed their lives to come forward as missionaries after their studies.4. Pray for the volunteers. In order to achieve our goals God has given us a workforce of 60 committed young Christian people who are volunteers with us and who spend every minute of their leisure time serving among teens. Pray for their suitable life partners and future ministry.5. Pray for openings in other states and in schools so that we can sow the seeds of gospel in the tender hearts and get volunteers in their own State to do teens’ ministry.6. Pray for India to shine, we must build a godly generation of young people who will grow to become responsible citizens of both the earthly and heavenly kingdom. Let the Lord’s kingdom come into the heart of every teen. May it be our passion to serve teenagers!!
