NETWORK OF CHARITY

In the Church's life, the holy men and women guide us to Jesus. On September 27Th , we celebrate the feast day of Saint Vincent de Paul. He is the founder of the Congregation of the Mission which was devoted to working among the poor and formation of the clergy. With St. Louise de Marillac, as co-founder, Saint Vin-cent the Sisters of Charity, whose main work was care of the sick and care of orphans and children in need. By the way, Saint Catherine Laboure belonged to the Sisters of Charity and re-ceived from Our Lady the Miraculous Medal in 1830. For Vincent, love is always very concrete. He said, “let us love God, my broth-ers and sisters, let us love God, but let it be with the strength of our arms and the sweat of our brows.” Inspired by this message, in 1833, Blessed Frederic Ozanam founded the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Paris, France, and from Paris to many countries. In Alameda, the current council started in 1938 and they are celebrating 80 years of serving the poor. For this reason, I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all our Saint Vincent de Paul member at our parish. Thank you for being part of this network of charity. Happy 80 th anniversary!

RED DE CARIDAD En la vida de la Iglesia, los santos hombres y mujeres nos guían a Jesús. El 27 de septiembre, celebramos la fiesta de San Vicente de Paúl. Él es el fundador de la Congregación de la Misión que se dedicó a trabajar entre los pobres y la formación del clero. Con Santa Luisa de Marillac, como cofundadora, San Vicente las Hermanas de la Caridad, cuya labor princi-pal fue cuidar de los enfermos y cuidar de huérfanos y niños necesitados. Por cierto, Santa Catalina Laboure pertenecía a las Hermanas de la Cari-dad y recibió de Nuestra Señora la Medalla Milagrosa en 1830.

Por esta razón, aprovecho esta oportunidad para expresar mi gratitud a todos nuestros miembros de San Vicente de Paúl en nuestra parroquia. time each week in service to others to strengthen our faith community. Serving as a greeter, assisting in the office, Religious Education instructor and so many more opportu-nities

Treasure: Treasure does not always refer to money. You are a TREASURE, a unique child of God, no one else can give in time and service to our parish what you have to offer.

Talent: All that we are is because of the grace of God. Your special talents are needed to ensure that our Parish grow and prosper. Don’t overlooked these everyday talents: can you drive, bake, set up tables, iron, help with parish mailings and so many more.
