Preparation is held on the 1st Tuesday

of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the

Parish Hall. Sponsors are required to

attend.

the Pastor at least 6 months before

their wedding date. Marriage

Preparation with Pre-Cana is required.

HOMILIA DE HOY

Proyecto de Homilía

• Hoy, en este ciclo B, la invitación cuaresmal a

amar según el amor de la alianza nos destaca los

Diez Mandamientos, cuyo doble llamado a amar a

Dios y al prójimo se hace carne en la persona de

Jesús. En el ejemplo que nos da Jesús del amor

incondicional esta invitación se convierte en el

modelo imperecedero del compromiso bautismal

para los discípulos de Jesús.

• Nuestra cultura valora el mérito y adjudica

posiciones sociales en base a dónde y cómo uno

vive, los bienes que uno tiene y la ropa que uno

viste, cuánto tienes y cuánto gastas. Es por eso que

optar por dar la vida por alguien y perdonar a

nuestro verdugo seguramente parecerá “locura y

debilidad”. Sin embargo, y tal como nos recuerda

Pablo, Cristo crucificado optó por esta “locura”. La

fe cristiana proclama que Jesús es “la fuerza y la

sabiduría de Dios”.

• En el bautismo o en la renovación de las

promesas bautismales durante la próxima Vigilia

Pascual profesaremos nuestra fe en que “la locura

de Dios es más sabia que la sabiduría [humana]” y

que “la debilidad de Dios es más fuerte que la

fuerza [humana]”. Y aún más, nos

comprometeremos a actuar según la alianza

revelada en los Diez Mandamientos del Sinaí, y

encarnados en la entrega amorosa del sacrificio de

Jesús. Por tanto, debemos de darle buena acogida a

la “limpieza de primavera” en esta Cuaresma,

como la limpieza que Jesús hace en el templo de

nuestra vida a fin de que nuestra alabanza ascienda

hacia Dios y podamos encontrar nosotros, los

agotados hijos e hijas de Dios, una tregua en

nuestras luchas. Sabiendo cuánta limpieza hay que

hacer para que eso suceda, cuán consolador es que

Jesús, según nos recuerda el Evangelio de hoy, “no

necesitaba que nadie le descubriera lo que es el

hombre”, sino que nos invita al discipulado y nos

ama incondicionalmente, porque “él sabía” lo que

hay en nuestra condición humana.

¿Qué es lo que Jesús tiene que “echar” del templo

de mi alma, qué “mesas debe volcar” para

transformar mi corazón de ser un “mercado” y

convertirlo en “la casa de [su] Padre”?

which helps the needy in

places like Croatia, Haiti,

etc.

Christi Catholic Church

Assistance Ministry.

2015 Federal Budget and Aging Programs, presented

by Teresa Player, a former attorney from Newberry and

now the Director of Community and Be Well Home

Services. She will discuss the new legislation being

proposed in Congress and how it will affect current

programs designed for Seniors.

Some topics being covered are the Senior Corps, Family

Caregiver Support, Housing and Alzheimer’s Research.

After attending Mass, members will participate in a

potluck luncheon and social.
