University Hospital Sharjah has a full complement of support services in place to meet the needs of our patients, their families, care team members and referring physicians.

Emergency CareThe Emergency Department at UHS provides the highest quality emergency care in the most effective, efficient and compassionate manner to all patients present at the ER. Specially trained and board-certified, emergency physicians and nurses serve as the front-line of our emergency healthcare system and are always prepared to deals with all kinds of surgical and medical cases from minor to critically ill patients, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Emergency Department is comprised of 34 treatment beds which include 3 major resuscitation beds, 3 procedure rooms and one which is a plaster room, two isolation rooms, 12 bays and 13 cubicles. Also it has complete access to Radiology Department and the Pneumatic System of Laboratory with instant access to imaging and data results. In addition, the Emergency Department has a comprehensive computer system that manages the physician and nursing documentation for easy and prompt patient care. The hospital provides an integrated pharmacy service where patients and public can obtain specialist advice from fully trained pharmacists. The hospital nutritional services provide resources and healthy food options to meet the nutritional needs of our patients, staff, and visitors.

Medical Diagnostic ImagingUHS also offers the most comprehensive range of state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and treatment tools. The Department of Radiology offers a comprehensive range of highly sophisticated diagnostic and interventional procedures including 128 Slice CT Scan, 1.5 tesla MRI, 3D and 4D Ultra Sonography, Colour Doppler, Mammography, Bone Densitometry, Digital X-ray, and Fluoroscopy (IVU, MCU and Barium Studies).

Department of Pathology and Laboratory MedicineOur pathology laboratory performs a wide array of investigative parameters and profiles coupled with the highest level of personal and professional service. Our services encompass biochemistry, hematology, immunology, transfusion medicine, microbiology, histology and cytology.

It offers comprehensive and multidisciplinary breast cancer treatment that includes the timely diagnosis of a breast lesion, the development of a treatment pathway, breast cancer surgery, including oncoplastic (reconstructive and plastic surgery), and the administration of chemotherapy.
