Brief History of the Company
Nissin Corporation was founded in 1938 as a domestic in-harbor transportcompany in Yokohama, Japan’s main gateway to the world. It has sinceexpanded to cater to the logistics needs of the Ports of Kobe, Osaka andChiba. As Japan developed into a world economic power and itstransportation needs became more advanced and complex, Nissin faced therising need to improve both its systems and facilities. In 1968 it beganoffering comprehensive global logistics services, an entirely new category ofservice, and it now operates in Japan and 23 other countries.
Our name, Nissin, is derived from the Chinese literature classic “GreatLearning,” combining two characters meaning ‘day’ and ‘new’ to reflect thecompany spirit of encouraging effort to improve daily. This spirit drives Nissinto respond to change proactively so tomorrow is always better than today asit fulfills customer needs growing increasingly global, advanced and complex.

On September 7, 2011, Nissin was certified by customs authorities in Yokohama as an authorizedcustoms broker with a well-developed system of security and compliance management.In addition, on December 20, 2013, Nissin was approved by Customs authorities in Yokohama as anauthorized warehouse operator with a well-developed system of security and compliance management.
Standards under the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program are provided by the World CustomsOrganization (WCO) for the purposes of ensuring security and implementing efficient, effective physicaldistribution in international logistics. The AEO program is being adopted in many countries around theworld. With certification, we are striving to make our compliance system even stronger and to providehigh-quality logistics services in the areas of customs brokerage and other import-export activities.
In order to meet the increasingly diverse SCM needs of customers, prompt delivery of optimal information is necessary.
